I am looking for a new bike, and I just want to be sure about the Aeroad. Is it correct that you can't replace the cockpit with anything else than another Canyon cockpit?

Worse. You won't even get another Canyon cockpit. They don't sell it. If you're not sure about the cockpit geometry this is not the bike for you.
However if it fits you it's a fantastic bike.

Anybody know the actual weight difference between the CF SLX and CFR frames?thirdsun wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 6:13 pmIt's the same frame geometry with a different layup / higher grade carbon. Unless money is no object it's absolutely unnecessary to spend on the CFR model. CF SLX is all you'll ever need. It's the value sweet spot.tymon_tm wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 3:25 pmjust noticed ths topic has 200+ pages...
anyway, can someone please briefly explain what are the differences between CFR and (also new?) CF SLX?
aside from weight (obviously) and some tweaks (seatpost? headset?) do they share the design? in other words - can i expect CF SLX to be equally *fast* as the CFR?
reason i ask - CF SLX with Ultegra and 1400 DTs is 1/3 cheaper than CFR on DA and 1100's, and only ~400 grams heavier...

Looks like the CFR EPS is being discontinued. Only in the outlet.

I've never owned a Canyon and don't have access to any. Now that it looks like the seat post issue is behind them though I'm seriously considering the new Aeroad. What is the consensus on Canyon frames? Are they decent quality?
Starting to see what looks like cracks in the paint on the nds chainstay near the bottom bracket area. A bit worrying as I already had the paint crack underneath where the chainstays connect to the seat tube, which Canyon said was not structural but other people seem to have had their frames warrantied for the same thing.
Right now I just feel like I'm going to ride like I normally do and if it really breaks it breaks and then it's going to be covered by warranty

Rumors on when the "new" Aeroad with the top seat clamp is going to be released? Is the 1-year prototype rule still in effect?

I don't see it on the US website. Just the old model. Or are you saying that they're shipping the new seatpost model?

At least in Europe they are being sold, you can see a few pages back
I have a 2022 CFR MvdP version. I used the tape hack to reduce the slight movement (with no sound) of my seatpost. Last month I noticed a number folks still mentioning the seatpost issue, so just for the heck of it, I called Canyon and they said send the bike to us - they pay shipping costs and I paid $80 to have my bike shop pack it - and off it went. It got to Canyon yesterday. I pushed them on finding out what the "fix" was because if it was just going to be grease and another rubber gasket, it wouldn't be worth it to me, since my seatpost issue was miniumal - only a slight movement when pushed backward. But apparently they have computer printed insert that they add to the seatpost, which I guess is a "high-tech" version of the tape hack? We'll see, but they did warn me it might be a four to six week turn around, but I have other bikes.

Mine arrives next week. Well, the week after that. Got to get over L’Étape first.
