This subject is becoming curiouser and curiouser because if we assume Time have used the same Deda headset and front end design as the current ADHX, it should be able to take mechanical transmissions, right? The website claims it’s possible. Has anyone tried Campagnolo on an ADHX? I recall there was some build thread or video of someone putting Ekar on it….JasonFly wrote:Call It "internal" or "electronic only", the end result is the same: less choice and no Campagnolo...
You could always still get the ADH21 frame which will remain with external cables and with rim brakes as an option.
I considered Campagnolo quite a lot for my upcoming build, but in the end I chose Shimano because of the compatibility. Not many shops in my area stock Campagnolo and several refused to work with me on ordering it. For someone who likes to do my own work, I would still want to have the possibility of bringing it in to have more serious work done, and that was the tipping point.

These guys have Ekar as an option when building an ADHX.

From what I've heard (Time customer service), in fact the ADH21 will be discontinued, so only the new disc-only ADH 2023 (with the Deda headset) and the current ADH01 with rim brakes (and Quickset) will be available
Wow, interesting!!! And this comes directly from Time? Very different to what was posted many times before in this thread, that they'd keep the 21 and not the 01. I wonder if they've changed direction after seeing demand for the 01. My dealer was very adamant that rim brakes would not go away in the Time world, and they are believers in both systems.steveadore wrote: ↑Fri Dec 23, 2022 3:11 pm

According to the manual they write it's compatible with both mechanical and electronic, and that it can be run 1x or 2x. It'd be interesting to see if someone could get Campagnolo 2x working on an ADHX even without the FD cable stop.velomane wrote: ↑Fri Dec 23, 2022 3:08 pmhttps://contenderbicycles.com/products/ ... ke-builder

This is what Time US told me a week ago: "For 2023, the only rim brake models that we will produce will be the existing Alpe d'Huez 01 and Scylon. Both of these models will be in good supply throughout 2023. The Alpe d'Huez 21 will cease production at the end of this month. There are a few of the AdH 21 rim brake frames left.
No changes at all to the two rim brake models that we will be producing for 2023. Scylon rim brake pricing will remain the same and Alpe d'Huez rim brake pricing will be dropped to US$ 3,999."
The no changes refers to the headset (I specifically asked them if the rim brake models will drop the Quickset and switch to the Deda integrated routing model).

Should we expect a new Scylon in 2023? Or just a new headset on the existing scylon?

Could any of you who own he current iteration of the ADH21 (or 01) measure the actual STA with a reliable, well-calibrated device (even a smartphone with a level meter app should work, as long as you calibrate it first), please? In the other Time thread, the old discussion about the questionable reliability of the official geometry numbers came up again, and some people claim that the STA is slacker than the published figure.
I, for one, am concerned about too slack of a STA (as I already use a zero offset seatpost with my current frame with a 73.25 degree STA). If the ADH21 STA is, in fact, much slacker than the official geo figure of 73 degrees (for size M), I might have difficulties with achieving my ideal saddle position.
Thanks in advance for any help

Thanks! Time has confirmed that on the ADH21 and ADHX the STA is measured in the standard way (along ST centerline), so this is right in the ballpark of 73 degrees (I guess the .7 degree deviation could be te result of calibration and the Kickr probably not set up 100% level). In any case, the actual STA is not considerably slacker than the geo chart nominal value.
Had a chat with Time's US support as I was inquiring about Time stems and handlebars (since they're no longer listed on the site). In their reply they stated that Time is redesigning their stems and handlebars, with the goal being to release them for the 2024 model year.
I did ask if the newly designed stems will be for internal cable routing or external cable routing? Their reply was that the new stems and handlebars will be compatible with both internal and external routing.
There are some current model stems and handlebars available, but you need to contact Time directly if you would like to get them.
