You folks that are interested in broken rail saddles....or seeing
all these failure reports & still want to "give it a chance"???
IMHO you should also buy a lottery ticket since your feeling so lucky
People seem to discount the fact that a saddle breaking at an inopportune time
could cause a very bad crash or a very bad gash to a thigh or worse
Just in my opinion of course

This is so true. Don't want to talk shit about Berk but he have made these saddle long enough to see it's not the best way to manufacture these if you want long lasting product. So many broken saddles and looks like nothing have changed.
I want to buy good quality products which last a long time while preventing any unnecessary waste. They replace these saddles under warranty but after it you are pretty much on your own. Afterwards I feel stupid to buy new Lupina after 5k km (out of warranty) but my butt still like it.
Hahah
Makes no difference to me but after 35 years of riding I have seen things break/crashes.... some due to rider error
others due to equipment failure that would make many quit cycling altogether.
An image of a carbon saddle snapping makes me wince imagining the possibilities
This is a statistical and heuristic fallacy. We cannot know how much risk there is for failure without knowing how many saddles are out there that have NOT failed. There is also potential for sampling bias because people who have had rail failures are more likely to report them than those who have not. This is not to say that there isn't a design or manufacturing flaw here- there may well be. It's just that you can't make that conclusion without more data, and you also need comparison data from other brands to know if this is not an issue common to saddles with carbon rails. (FWIW, I'm just under 60kg and have a Berk Lupina and have not had a problem with mine).
I weighted 70ish when I broke my round railed lupina. I did crash weeks before and definitely stressed the saddle beyond its design. Can't fault the Berk for my failure. Second one is all good except for a crack in the shell due to careless bike shop (my fault for not changing out the saddle).
