I received a pair of Black inc forty five wheels last week. When I weighed it, it turned out to weigh 1600 grams which is 110 grams more than what black inc claims!!
- Front 692
- Rear 908
Included in the weight is the shimano body and the rim tape.
Is it a normal weight because 110 grams difference feels wrong?

You shouldn't include rim tape or valves when weighing wheels, but manufacturers massaging published weights is nothing new. In my mind 1600g for a wheelset is verging on heavy whereas 1490g sounds light, so I can see why you're disappointed. It will make a difference when you're measuring the bike weight on a set of scales, but you won't notice riding, and the difference probably accounts for about 0.1% of your total system weight. If you're really not happy, you could send them back, but I wouldn't be confident that a replacement set would be significantly different. Perhaps call Factor and see what they have to say. Maybe they'll give you a discount!Milton wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 9:21 amI received a pair of Black inc forty five wheels last week. Can anyone confirm that this is the Ostro's BB for SRAM? https://www.ceramicspeed.com/en/cycling ... r-sram-dub
I realized I haven't done any maintenance on mine yet, and I don't have the tool. I need the 12 and 16-tooth BB tool, correct?

I'm not looking to replace the BB yet - just for the right tool to service the stock one.FactoryMatt wrote: ↑Sat Feb 18, 2023 7:38 pmthis is what you want in BBCorrect:inertianinja wrote: ↑Sat Feb 18, 2023 7:32 pmCan anyone confirm that this is the Ostro's BB for SRAM? https://www.ceramicspeed.com/en/cycling ... r-sram-dub

does anyone have a good comparo or a closeup of the new steerer design vs old? does the new one still use that vertical metal bracket? which has the bonded-in preload thread?

Andres at Beyond Aero was kind enough to let me weigh a frame/fork. Great guy, highly recommend his shop.
Do these weights seem right? how does one build a 6.8kg race bike on this? is there really more than 150g in parts and paint vs a flicker 56? (assuming 900g isnt unobtainable?!)
56 frame, w/ both hangers and seat wedge 1140 grams
uncut fork, bonded threaded insert version 516 grams

Wow, that is heavy. IIRC my 2022 56 raw carbon/chrome was around 900 and the fork was about 400 after cutting. My fork steerer was open - no bonded threaded bits. White paint is never scale friendly.
