Geez, i have never used more than 3Nm on my bike and never a slip. With Bike ahead seatpost i use 2Nm and no carbon paste ever.

Do you also use the darimo post or the factor one? I wouldn't mind torquing the factor post to 8nm but was hesitant to do it with the darimo post because the instructions said 6 nm to be the maximum torque. But then again I think that the darimo instructions are generic and not specifically for the factor frame / Post.Lookryder wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 6:44 pmShe's a beauty. Nice build. My seatpost slipped on my first ride because it was not torqued to 8nm; no problems since tightening to 8nm.Cyclistrobin wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 5:22 pmNew Bike Day!
The full build comes in at 7.35 kg including garmin mount, bottle cages, pedals and tubeless sealant. I am pretty happy with that and the bike rides like a rocket ship!
Specs:
- 54cm frame (chrome)
- Full Dura-Ace (including pedals and 11-34 cassette) with power2max NG-SL power meter and Rotor Aldhu 24mm cranks
- Enve SES 4.5 with DT Swiss 180 hubs hand built by r2-bike (Germany)
- Black Inc Aero Bar/Stem 400x110 mm
- Specialized Power Pro Saddle
- Darimo Seatpost L350mm (saddle height is about 76 to 76.5 cm)
- Continental GP 5000 S TR 28mm front and rear (I had some 30mm lying around and they fit the frame as well. I save them for later.)

Data point, just received my Soho colourway size 54 frame, weights with hardware (derailleur hangers, bottle cage bolts, seatpost clamp) are 991g for frame and 444g for the fork cut to 30mm of spacers.

What a stunner! I'm expecting my ostro VAM with Princeton 6560's in about 2 weeks! Can't wait!Cyclistrobin wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 5:22 pmNew Bike Day!

Have only done one longer ride so far and I like everything of this build. I am having some issues with the Darimo seat post because it was slipping even though I installed everything according to the installation instructions (fiber grip and torquing to 6 NM). I am wondering if the torque values of Darimo are correct because on the Factor frame it says "max 8 NM". Anyone got some input on what torque to use with the Darimo seatpost?
I could save another 250g-350g by cahnging the brake rotors, crankset to Aldhu carbon, lighter saddle and 11-30 cassette but I'm fine with 7.35kg for the moment.
Cheers

The catch is, at least for UCI sanctioned events, is that the Ostro with the same build will only be 150 - 200 grams heavier, and could get to 6.8 with a few additional tweeks. Nothing beats a light aero frameset.MysticRiver wrote: ↑Sat Jul 01, 2023 6:11 amNew O2 - https://www.bikeradar.com/news/2023-factor-o2-vam/
I will give Factor the benefit of the doubt that this time, the new O2 VAM has a proper BB shell design, and is not dangerously flexible.

Good day,
Please, give me an advice. I've had a problem since the new bike, and when driving over bumps, I hear a crunching sound (crack, blow), this sound comes from the front of the bike factor ostro. At first I thought it was the seat post, but this sound comes even when I'm standing on the pedals and not sitting. I'm wondering if it could be the head assembly??
Can you please advise me, do you have any experience on what I should do to remove it?
Thank you

Have you removed the stem and checked?bora76 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2023 5:25 pmGood day,

I cracked the lower HT bearing at my UP. That sounded like that.
Ofcourse you also noted this while steering.
I would remove the stem and check this right away.

The bike is new, driven approx. 500 km. The sounds are right from the first ride. If it was a broken bearing, it would be very bad luck. Unfortunately, disassembling the stem and removing the fork means new hoses and wrapping, that is the reality of today's cockpits. I'll try to catch up a bit first, but I don't think it will be the one. I'm probably going to have to take it all apart.wheelsONfire wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2023 5:29 pmHave you removed the stem and checked?bora76 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2023 5:25 pmGood day,

No i don't think it's a broken bearing. I rode my UP like a MTB, so it's different. But as you describe it, it sounds like something has cracked!bora76 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2023 6:38 pmThe bike is new, driven approx. 500 km. The sounds are right from the first ride. Yes, he contacted, check everything, tighten the compression plug to 9 nm. We'll see if that helps.wheelsONfire wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2023 9:15 pmNo i don't think it's a broken bearing.
