I hope they offer all the versions in different colors. Beautiful bike IMO. I'd be happy with the 105er in something besides gray

I had the chance to have a brief test ride on the Foil RC Ultimate a few weeks ago. While it was too short to give any comprehensive feedback, a few thoughts. Overall an impressive machine which shows just how much bikes have developed in the last few years – solid handling and braking, surprisingly light considering the depth of the aero-shaped tubes, lively enough. Up to 30 kph it feels good but not special; over 35 kph the aero performance becomes noticeable and it takes off. Similarly, on transitions from downhill to flat it holds speed remarkably well compared to a "standard" road bike. No matter what Scott says, I felt no flex from the deep seatpost, which felt firm to my butt; indeed the whole bike felt firm. I have also spent time on the Addict RC, which I found to be a more enjoyable all rounder (if aero performance is not important). While on both bikes I find the cockpit very well conceived, that of the Foil gave me one particular problem, which would likely rule out the bike for me personally. Namely, the stem extends backwards way past the steerer tube, and I found my inner thighs catching on the sharp lower edge of this piece when riding out of the saddle up steep slopes. However, I have long lower legs and ride very knees in, so probably not a problem for most people. Finally, speccing this bike with a 48 tooth big ring is just a shame.
As far as I know, the Ultimate has SRAM Red as a groupset with a 48T big ring and 10T as smallest sprocket. 48/10=4,8 which is almost equivalent to a 53/11=4,82 in Shimano world.

I must admit, the bike in the shop looks much better than on the web.
@rainerhq, do you happen to know if framesets would be available at all, and at which price? Handlebar included or not? (I seem to remember, the Addict RC had to buy the handlebar separately, even though the frame right before Covid was like EUR 2000 only, when asking the right dealers )

Gearing is not only about ratios, it's also about mechanical efficiency. On a bicycle which is all about optimising efficiency, IMHO it's ridiculous to put on gearing which inherently increases mechanical losses over other options. Personally, I would take a 53 or 54 tooth as the minimum acceptable size for the large chainring on such a machine.
