New Scott foil.. at last!

I expected my '23 Ultimate to arrive with the elastomer post, so I bought the Hylix. It came with the Duncan SL so now I have 2 rigid posts for this bike. I'd sell one to someone who wants to replace their elastomer model.

FYI on creaking seatposts - got my warranty one a couple weeks ago. Now has a mechanically retained TPE insert.

It appears the inner tube idea was a winner (other than it sometimes drifted out the side, which this moulding's mechanical retention ought to fix).

For anyone wondering what the farsports f1 handlebar looks like on the new foil.

Spacer fits well, however routing the cables was a bit of a pain.

After a few rides I can only report positive feedback.

I got my hands on the Foil RC Ultimate frame (size L / 56) and the built up bike came in just under 14.8 lbs (6.7 kg) with deep section wheels. I know that weight generally doesn't matter for an aero bike, but it was a priority for me as I'll also use it for hill climbs. It should weigh between 12.8 & 13.5 lbs (5.8 - 6.1 kg) in hill climb mode, depending on what wheels, tires & gearing I use. I still need to drop the bars 2 cm to get my old fit on this, but it's almost there!

Parts list:
Frame (900g for a size L/56, including the front derailleur hanger which I couldn't be bothered to remove)
Fork (459g uncut, 437g cut, will remove another ~2cm which will take off an additonal ~6g)

Nice built! Interesting, I wasn't aware Scott hasn't the usual 1 1/4" (Addict RC or Gravel or old Foil) or at least 1 1/8' steerer diameter. Instead 1" to 1.5".

It seems the websites have the frame weight wrong, 970g, only 15 lighter than non SL frame seems not correct when comparing with reviews or measurements like yours.

Stock build 2023 Foil Ultimate 58cm, 7.43kg w/DA pedals.

My build: DA9200, Hyper D67s, Hylix, Galfer (waiting for the stem cap, lighter brake pads, Prestacycle 11-25 cassette, and 400x120 handlebar that should drop another 150g+) 6.81kg

The matte gold Lizard Skins bar tape looks mustard in the overcast photo but is great looking on a sunny day.

So the new seatpost is a winner indeed. Last Sunday 5 hours and 0 noise from the seatpost. However (perhaps my focus has shifted) now at the front axle the lever seems to be bouncing around in the axle = noise. Are you guys riding with the lever in the axle (As I do - and did, with my Canyon)?

Hey folks, was curious if everyone is still loving their Foil RCs? I have read all 26 pages of this thread and will do so again but was curious if anyone had updates about ownership. I'm aware of the known seatpost creak issue but I test rode a 2023 RC 20 at a LBS and looooved it. I am checking out other bikes too but nothing is looking or feeling as good. I rode a very old Trek roadbike for 5 years, switched to a Trek Crockett about 4 years ago, but now I want to add to the collection something that feels fast and looks amazing. I know an endurance or climber bike is probably more likely to take me on longer rides, but I kinda have my Crockett for that. I'm not in an area with many hills so also not as concerned about climbing. I'm riding with my hands in the drops on the Trek often, so not too worried about the posture/flexibility, and am happy to do stretches to help if needed... Just still some part of my brain worries that I should get something a little lighter and more upright, with what all the articles say. Anyway - thanks for any thoughts and hope everyone is riding safe and enjoying!

Regarding the Seatpost, i think the Hylix option or the one piece from Scott will solve all your concerns. For an Aero Bike, the weight is pretty good in my opinion. A lot of people here ride it sub 7 kilos including pedals and everything. Concerning comfort, the most important part is a good tire setup(tubeless;) ) with the right pressure. The geo is aggressiv, but with some core training you can easy maintain the position on the bike. And when you rode your trek a lot in the drops, this shouldnot be a problem for you.
I am very happy with my Bike, the small Frame with the 110mm stem is perfect for a race position and the handling in corners is amazing.It feels very fast and comparing the power numbers against my mates during group rides or other guys in racing, my numbers are really tiny. With my other bike, i have the feeling, i have to push more watts to keep up the same speed and riding in the draft is harder. Of course it is just a feeling, but the Tour Test also said, this bike is fast.
