I have a foam cable so hard to say what is wrong with the cable, it doesn't have the bb hole at the bottom so it is a bit unclear...i am sure it has a solution...it's just that 2 mechanics didn't solve it, but they were lazy to dismantle everything and start from scratch.
My expander is the black one. I might use more carbon paste on that probably. I have seen some Jumbo Visma mechanic assembling Soloist and he used plenty of carbon paste.
Do you tighten it with full 8Nm to the fork?
Mine is probably 6Nm max.
My 5 has a hole under the BB but I can also see though the hole in the down tube at the top. Sometimes they leave the plastic guide tube in the down tube, which can cause a light rattle.

It is definitely cable that makes sounds because i can hear it click while turning the bars.
You are right there is a plastic bb cover at the bottom, my mistake. Only the hole for the bb is fully closed so it was slightly more complicated to assemble di2 cables. But I didn't mind as it is sealed this way and probably due to this construction it is made of round tube so L a R cup should be straight...
I should probably go through the Soloist thread to see what upgrades are possible...

Finally built my Cal5 up and while I like it a lot, I've got to say I'm a bit disappointed that it weighs pretty much 8kg. Build list below.

Planning on replacing stock axles with J&L to save ~80g and I have a set of LB WR38 wheels set up tubeless that will be ~120g lighter but this is still going to be a 7.75kg bike and beyond the heavy stem and 11-34 cassette I'm a little confused why.

Cal5 Frame with hangers + chainstay guard 54cm 1011
Fork (trimmed) 352
Seatpost with ElitaOne hardware 187
ST32 Alloy Stem 110mm 220
Prime Primavera Aero Bars 38cm 229
Prime Primavera Saddle 131
Cervelo Indexed Axles 130
LB AR46 DT240 Wheelset 1439
Vittoria Corsa Clinchers 28mm 570
Ridenow TPU tubes 71
RT900 rotor 140mm 97
RT900 rotor 160mm 115
PD-A600 pedals 291
Lifeline Carbon cages 44

R8100 groupset (52-36, 11-34)

Edit to add Wheels Manufacturing thread together BB which I forgot to weigh but felt reassuringly heavy in a well put together kind of way!

@kofsw4
I replaced my stock axles with the Cervelo "aero axles". They are only 28g and 37g.

Thanks for the info. The J&L are quoted at 22g and 25g which isn't a huge difference but I suspect they'll be half the price of the Cervélos too

Is anyone here running Shimano 12 speed on their Cal-5? I'm struggling to get the R8150 front derailleur set up correctly as I can't move it inboard sufficiently. Photo below is in 52-11 with the indexing in the etube app set all the way in to -19. Shimano specifies a gap between the chain and outer plate of the cage of 0.5-1.0mm but I can't get that gap below about 2mm and have now dropped the chain to the outside of the chainset a couple of times when in this gear.

I believe my frame is a 2021 Force Axs model so am wondering if I need a different hanger or whether I need to shim the chainset outwards 1mm or so?

Impressive how you got that weight down from 9,25 Kg. I have a Caledonia with SRAM Rival incoming and I'm worried about the weight if a 105 build is already that heavy.

Every single part on the bike was heavy!
Stem: 181g
Bar: 314g
Seatpost: 256g
Saddle: 314g

I did not weigh the wheels but they are listed with 1900g in webshops.
The Zaffiro tires are also on the heavy side...

At least the Rival build will already have the lighter aero thru axles (65g instead of 128g)

Yes...impressive weight reduction on jayjay's C5. My friends C5 is rather heavy as well and several parts were swapped out including wheels so a 600g reduction.
He does have a ST31 carbon stem (still heavy).
OEM bars.
Aliexpress seatpost so he saved quite a bit there.
Saddle, not so much as it is 315g in weight (OEM).

Not sure where he can shave off more weight...maybe a LightBicycle ultralight wheelset (could save about 385g there from his Enve SES 3.4)
Maybe Darimo bars.
Definitely saddle but he hasn't found one that fits well.

It's the regular Caledonia, not the Caledonia-5 ;)

My Caledonia (Non-5) in Glacier/White, size 48 with SRAM Rival and those god-awful Fulcrum Racing 900 arrived. Weight is better than I feared: 8.76 Kg out of the box. I can work with that. Cables also look a lot less messy than on the product shots. Overall this looks promising.

However I also have a new Vitus Venon Evo incoming. Tough decisions that will have to be made.
