ZFC hates the muc off stuff. His recommendations would be silca super secret, ufo drip, tru tension tungsten, squirt, or smoove (in that order I think). If you can find any of those they’re fine to top up a wax chain and even to then re-dip the chain after without having to remove the drip lube first.man1ac wrote:Quick question: I use MoltenSpeed Wax on all my chains and went into the holidays and forgot my wax at home.
Here in Portugal I dont think I can come by any solid waxes like Silca/MSW or anything. What can I do? I thought about Muc Offs Bio Dry Lube? Its wax based at least?
I dont wanna mess up the chains and have the need to clean them again...
Any other Ideas?
Re: later replies about generic paraffin wax - it’s often sold in hobby and craft making shops (for candles, models, etc.) and sometimes sold by beauty products suppliers (some nail and skincare uses). There are other uses as well but those are most common.

Hot melt wax on a vacation/holiday? Lol. Just get some drip wax like UFO Drip or Silca Super Secret.
If you are staying in a permanent place you could get it online.man1ac wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 7:11 amQuick question: I use MoltenSpeed Wax on all my chains and went into the holidays and forgot my wax at home.

Small company that has just entered cycling and the actual bike department is eurperg and me. So, if you want to help then best thing would be to tell your local shop to get some of our stuff.

I am currently running Dryfluid on all my bikes.
Thinking of switchting to Silca Super Secret Chain Coating and trying the chain stripper as well.
Do you think this move makes sense? Can I use it on a used chain which has never seen oil but only Dryfluid?
Thanks

The holes will still be full of wax even when you do that.
