Maybe this is new Emonda SL, not SLR? The seatmast topper looks like so... Plus, it sucks if they move the hole for the rear derailleur from the end of the chainstay. Hope it's only the SL treatment...

I dont think they're anything fancy. I recently got a 2020 Domane and that looks very close to the stock wheels (heavy, non WW approved)

I do think that's the SL version only. Notice the SS nipples, only the lower tier wheelsets have that, while the higher tier offerings have Black

Anyway, Im glad the TT slope is a bit tamed now. Cant wait to see the smaller sizes.

EDIT

Save before Trek sends an email to WW

Hrm. Cable entry at the front means no “slam that stem”

Yep, that’s just a stock 105 build with appropriate alloy wheelset.

"Slam that stem 'n crush those cables." :D

The SL is not really aestetically appealing. Maybe it's the colour. And I'm sure the slr will look a lot better.

Off topic: What strikes me is that this picture is taken in Asia. Normally, Trek imports frames from.Asia and assembles the bikes in the US, correct?
Would this bike be assembled in the US and than reimported into Asia, or do they have local assembly for the Asian Market?
Just curious.

I don’t, but if retail bikes are showing up at stores and the current SLR is delisted, even that June 18 date someone mentioned seems conservative.

The only continual assembly in the US is Project One. That’s been the case for many years. In late 2017, Trek stopped manufacturing P1 frames in Waterloo.

Notw: I meant bike assembly only, not frame building. Changed that in my previous post too. :-)

Yes, the only assembly in Waterloo right now is Project One. And if they really wanted, they could probably just hire painters in China and get rid of that too.

Can that thing even accept spacers due to that cable entry? That naked stem looks awful

I dont know how is this different from the Cannondale Supersix? It's the same cable entry through the headtube

Actually the SS wasnt meant to go down that entry for full mechanical until someone in Korea found a way
