Including shipping my guess would be 400 usd. Why should it be cheaper than the current one?Image

While waiting for more details that doesn’t seem a very exciting upgrade. It doesn’t seem they enlarged the ports under the bar. This is one of the things that the exs bar has largely improved

Why? Because Farsports' own sales collateral explicitly lists an F1S MSRP of ¥1898, which works out to about US $266 at today's exchange rate. (I assume that $266 is FOB, so let's call it $300 shipped to the US).

I mentioned the listed MSRP because (perhaps like you) that price seemed suspiciously low to me—maybe you share my skepticism.

If Farsports simplified construction, that could partly account for a price cut. So could concerns about a post-Covid industry slowdown and production glut.

I agree that a $100 price cut is pretty unlikely, but (a) I believe $300 was the original F1 selling price in the US, so that price point is at least plausible; and (b) the stated F1S MSRP is plain to see, and words have meanings. Farsports published an MSRP to set expectations for someone. I'm just wondering who they're addressing. Chinese consumers? Distributors? OEMs?

I don't expect to buy this for $266 in the real world, of course. An F1 spec sheet showing an MSRP in yuan might be a great point of comparison to the F1S info. Has anyone here run across something like that?

The old F1 officially retails for 1798 but can be found in the 1400-1500 range if you shop around

International pricing is definitely marked up

Stiffweenies, you're a gentleman and a scholar. I really appreciate your speedy and complete answer.

That implies a ≈5% price increase, which is about what I expected given the current economic climate. Good to know, I guess.

Some additional information posted on Farsports’ Korean Facebook, with some nice comparison photos: https://www.facebook.com/farsportskorea ... 8256575008

The shape of the tops and drops is clearly different. It looks to me like the overall geometry has been tweaked as well, with a shorter stem and longer bar reach (not what I was hoping, but probably closer to the specs).

Note these 2 bars are both 120 length but the F1 is 420 width and the F1S is 400.

Weight looks to be on par with current F1 weights.

What would you make think that?

Thinking this is an Ali bar is nonsense. Farsport builds (rim or under their name) more carbon wheels and components that vision do.

The Farsports F1 bar also has an Olympic gold medal. It's not just another Ali bar.

I used it on my S-Works SL7. Great bar and light! I added the red pin stripe.

Give that rider literally any aero bar and it would've had that gold medal...

I guess if I buy something from a Chinese brand that has no legal presence in my country (and thus no accountability for QC, CS, warranty, safety, labor laws, etc) then I expect their prices to be far lower. F1, Seka, and brands like that shouldn't be charging within 25% of brands that have all of the above because they cost a lot to provide to customers.
