685 days later and my Rapide handlebars in 38 cm finally arrived.
They measure about 38.7 cm in the drops and about 37.4 cm at the very top of the clamp area.
Expected them to be maybe slightly narrower in the top section but this will work just fine.

Guys I'm taking the plunge and updating my SL7s with Di2 12 speed systems, Dura Ace and Ultegra, I know the wires are a different type do I need a new tool to fit/remove the wires when I plug them in or can I use the original tool? Does it fit the new plugs?

Back again :D so I'm in the process of removing the DA 9100 group set from the S-Works in preparation for the 9200 set coming in time for a bank holiday weekend build and I've removed the FD, I can not get the Allen screws out the hanger :noidea: to get the cable out. I can see me rounding them off so currently have the frame on its side with WD40 on the screw heads in the hope that it penetrates enough to help remove them.

Any tips or have you guys that tackled this had the same problem?

Might end up ordering a new one and just cut slots in them!

I hate tiny Allen heads

Sounds like you already made the most important key decision which was to stop trying to force it and find a better solution!

The usual progression is WD-40, then if that's not enough try a torx key where the pointed ends might grab onto the corners of the allen head a bit better (I think the ideal is to have a torx size that just barely fits or maybe even needs a gentle tap with a hammer to drop into the socket). After that you can cut slots in them or maybe just graduate straight to drill bit and screw extractor territory.

Probably best to order the screws straight away either way - hardly expensive enough to prohibit having spares on hand.

I had a similar rounding issue with the FD hanger on my SL7. Eventually I resorted to a dremel + flathead screwdriver, which did the trick. That will obviously necessitate new screws.

Dilemma here! I can buy the Specialized Tarmac SL7 Comp with Rival Axs with a nice discount (4.400 eur instead of 5.700 eur). I would swap the wheels and crankset (rival -> red) from another bike which I have. For that price (4.400 eur): no brainer? or not worth it as it is the "comp" version?
option 2 is a SL6 frameset for 2.900 eur, but i find it a bit too high for a model of (almost) 2 generations passed.

Thoughts?

If you're happy to ride it from day 1 as equipped (plus the parts you already have to swap to it) then it seems absolutely worth it if you're getting a good deal. If you're going to start looking to upgrade the whole groupset straight away or if you're going to spend a year riding it less than you want because you wish you had a better groupset before you finally upgrade then maybe it's not such good value anymore.

Especially for that brief period between when Rival AXS came out and when the Red/Force revisions followed, Comp was probably the best value proposition of the whole SL7 lineup IMO. Definitely nothing to turn your nose up at, and if you decide down the line that you want to upgrade then you can spec it all the way up to 'Pro' level without the frame holding you back.

I'm thinking of buying these integrated bars

https://exs-cycling.com/products/aerove ... -handlebar

Or Joe from a China Cyling if YouTube's new website also sells them

Thoughts anyone in traditional or compact style weights are good
