Lol. I'm a fair weather rider. Below 40F I'm riding indoors. We also just got a few inches of snow last night and more expected this week.skinnybex wrote: ↑Mon Jan 23, 2023 3:44 pmGo ride that bike with those sexy tires, I'm happy to ride when it's 28 degrees with no wind, Ice or rain. Nice bike. Really dig this frameset, wish someone was selling a 58cm in the US.skinnybex wrote: ↑Mon Jan 23, 2023 3:44 pmGo ride that bike with those sexy tires, I'm happy to ride when it's 28 degrees with no wind, Ice or rain. At this point it rather makes sense to wait until July and see if they release an SL8 with the tour, doesn't it?DCcyclist wrote: ↑Mon Jan 23, 2023 6:06 pmNice bike. Why do you like them better than XTR? what is the advantage that you see? Aurely they are probably lighter, but do they actually stop better? They look thin, like they'd warp quickly from heat.
They are not thiner for sure, they are lighter than XTR, they stop better, no rubbing at all even if you brake hardCrankAddictsRich wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 1:06 pmWhy do you like them better than XTR? what is the advantage that you see? I've got a 61cm in that color if you're interested (I'm also in DC).DCcyclist wrote: ↑Mon Jan 23, 2023 6:06 pmNice bike. That's interesting to hear! I find the XTR rotors stop significantly better than the Galfer rotors, plus they have slightly better modulation as well. Both rotors seem to be ok against warping. I'm not the most aggressive rider, and I'm only 68kg as well. Everyone in our riding group prefers the XTR rotors over the Galfer rotors, so your experience is quite intriguing.sealucky wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 4:13 pmThey are not thiner for sure, they are lighter than XTR, they stop better, no rubbing at all even if you brake hardCrankAddictsRich wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 1:06 pmWhy do you like them better than XTR? what is the advantage that you see? Better modulation from a rotor change? My Galfers have been excellent as well, they withstood many long very steep descents still remaining quite and not fading.
How's your experience with these tires? pretty rare so farLanceLegstrong wrote: ↑Mon Jan 23, 2023 1:19 pmStill waiting for better weather, 26F in this picture.

Haven't been able to ride them yet unfortunately. They weren't too bad to mount, slightly harder than the GP5000 S TR. The interface between the tire and rim leaked a little sealant but sealed up nicely and have held air great since. Weight was 250g for the 27, which measures 27.7mm on my Zipp 404 FC. I bought them mainly for looks because they look killer in real life. Hopefully get out to ride soon.ViperFFM wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 11:06 pmHow's your experience with these tires? pretty rare so farLanceLegstrong wrote: ↑Mon Jan 23, 2023 1:19 pmStill waiting for better weather, 26F in this picture.
