Best and expensive upgrade.

Why is this a worthwhile upgrade? I can understand the allure of ceramic BB since it could be argued it increases drivetrain efficiency, but why bother for the headset? My steering on the stock headset bearings is silky smooth as is.

Yes the stock headset bearings is smooth when it's new. My SL7 is more than 3 years now and replaced the bearings 4x already. The hassle of replacing headset bearings on a SL7, cut hydro hoses and etc.

Moreover ceramicspeed headset bearings are made of stainless steel so it won't rust. Other brands like Factor and Colnago are switching to Ceramicspeed as their stock headset

Ah good to know, my SL7 is only a few months old and I've pretty much only been on it indoors, but if I start to have similar issues with longevity I'll definitely strongly consider this upgrade. Thanks for the extra info.

Has the SL7 even been out for more than 3 years? Didn't it come out in 2020? In any case, what kind of weather are you riding in? I bought mine July 2020 and the headset is still smooth so I'm curious why you have had to replace yours so often?

Just my bullet, really love these Galfer rotors, so much better than Shimano XTR
