So I got the new Rudy Project Nytron, and I'm very happy with it. Fit is pretty much perfect. I have a feeling this is a fast helmet. They certainly got it right with the Wing. It seems to be the fastest out there for TT helmets. I'm hoping Swisside have done a good job on this one.

That looks really nice are there any tests comparing them to third party helmets like the vanquish or evade?

Probably not. All I've seen is their own review. It would be interesting to know.

7.5 watts is a big difference even if it's a full aero vs aero road helmet. Still it's going to be hard to compare without acutal data. But it seems like they might have prioritized cooling a bit more than pure aero road.

I'm trying to decide between the this and the new giro eclipse spherical. Which one to get...

I don't think I've seen any serious amateur time trialist self-select a Rudy Project Wing. Apparently the fugly Lazer Volante is very fast and so is the Kask Mistral. The POC Tempor is fast if you have an excellent body position and the Giro Aerohead is fast if you don't.

There is no "fastest TT helmet". It's far too individual.
The fastest helmet on me was a POC tempor. But after altering my position, the Giro Aerohead Ultimate Test slightly faster.
I remember a thread on Slowtwitch where someone posted some tests which showed the Wing performed the best along with another one. It was also percieved to be the most comfortable. But yeah of course it's individual with any helmet, and more so with TT helmets.

Just saying that RP seem to be doing things right, which leads me to have high hopes for the Nytron. Again, personally fit is amazing. Which I can't say for many other helmets.

Yes, that's the one. That's actually what piqued my interest, and I came across the new Nytron.

It’s important to note the people in Jim’s test are triathletes and CdAs to match. They have more upright/all-day riding positions compared to time trialists, so the stubby Rudy Project Wing and stubby POC Cerebral work better.

Yeah, short tail don't work at all for me...
Case by case, rider by rider.
In TrainerRoad Podcast, they discussed how they didn't find to have the stubby ones work okay on everyone.
Don't think there is any one size fits all.
Cervelo P5 Disc (2021) 9.1kg
Factor Ostro Gravel (2023) 8.0kg
S-Works SL8 (2023) 6.3kg

*weights are race ready, size 58/L.
Sold: Venge, S5 Disc, Roubaix Team, Open WI.DE, Émonda, Shiv TT, Crux, Aethos, SL7

AGU just released their Transsonic aero helmet.

They say: the fastest ever!
Tested in Technical University Eindhoven in their wind tunnel by pro athletes (The Netherlands).

Looks heavily inspired by the Evade II from all angles…might be slightly smaller frontal area too.

I've not heard of them testing well on many people - unless you can get your head very low (i.e. probably not your average triathlete).
Helmets with a mid-small tail like the Bell Javelin are still one of the 'safest' bets for most people.
Another important factor is visibility, a helmet might test super fast but if you can see where you're going in that position...

They don't give any info comparing it to other helmets despite claiming that it's the fastest ever. Seems a bit suspicious.

I don't know why they name the "Aero" helmet after the transcient state which has the highest drag possible.
At transonic, the drag coefficient is higher than supersonic and subsonic. It's the place to spend as little time as possible inside that range.
