To save me from scrolling through 154 pages, could any Addict owners comment on it's handling manners, particularly descending?
I have a Gravel addict which I'm very impressed with, so much so that I'm considering the Addict as my next road bike.
BUT I'm not keen on the handling of low trail twitchy race bikes, looking at the Scott geo (I would be riding a 58 with a 73.3 head angle) I would have assumed that would be the case but nearly all the reviews I've read say the handling is balanced and confidence-inspiring.
For reference, I currently ride a BMC Road Machine, which I do like but it can feel a touch sluggish.
I Ride 58 on 28mm tires. I've riden Giant TCR on 25mm for a week in mallorca recently. Giant is considered as a twitchy bike nad it felt. Addit RC is totally opposite. Great and stable handling, giving lots of confidence on decents and sharp turns.

Hi Guys,
I just got the Addict RC Pro frameset and just started building it up. In the headset assembly, there is a ~0.3mm thick metal spacer, which seems to go between the fork/bearing reducer and bearing/stem plastic interface spacer.

Image

Does anyone know what that 0.3mm spacer is used for? Do I need to install it, or do I use it only if there isn't enough of a clearance marging between the carbon front tube and the bearing/stem interface spacer?

Thanks for any input,
Ivo

I've always assumed it was to reduce friction between the rotating and fixed components, and hence have installed it with a little grease on it. Located as shown below.

But the only interface between the rotating and fixed components is the bearing itself, hence there is no friction going on with this shim, is there? It rotates together with components below and above... My assumption is that it creates (or increases) a gap between lowermost spacer and frame

You can mount it but forget the clean look. I'd suggest keeping factory Syncros stem and buying an aero handlebar designed for fully concealed cable/hose routing through the stem.

It would need a 3d spacer adjustment to smooth the transition.

Will it really look that bad? My thought was I keep this spacer and use a Dremel to remove this ones on each side. Then mount the Pro handlebar flush on to it.

you just have to go to a shop with one in stock and try it out to see how it looks.

in terms of functionality, I don't see why it would not work.

I found some examples on Deda Facebook-page with a Deda handlebar mounted to the Scott Addict.

You have there a specific set of spacers to smooth the transition.
