I also said it looks like they are aligned, I didn’t say parallel, symmetry as in similar, heading in a similar direction, not like the broken looking rear ends of the current crop of bikes - time will tell when we get to see them in the flesh.
Surely any UCI legal dropped stay road bike has them heading in a similar direction to the downtube - not sure how you're seeing the new Addict as that much different to the others?

The Addict’s dropped seatstays do look less dropped than on many other bikes, but I kind of see that as a point against. Why not exploit the regulations fully and drop them as low as the UCI allows?

GCN spoke about the Addict on their latest tech show. Looks very nice!

If you mean this video, I am pretty sure it's the current/old Addict, not the new one this thread is about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXGRoho6kuA

No, this video. They show it immediately and then a bit more in-depth later on

The launch is imminent: https://www.scott-sports.com/global/en/ ... -road-bike

But I don't think you can proclaim yourself to have 'lightweight obsession' if you don't at least have rim brake option on a lightweight/all-round bike ! (Aero bikes notwithstanding)

As a cyclist looking to upgrade to a disc brake frame, I'd rather purchase a bike designed specifically for disc brakes because I know they went "all in" to make it the best disc brake bike on the market. They were not concerned with making sure it would also support rim brakes so all their R&D went to make it fast and comfortable with disc brakes. Don't worry, there are plenty of used rim brake bikes on eBay for you to purchase at a great price.

Seems like they’re going in on lightweight, probably no new Foil

The new Addict and the new Wilier SLR are the two 2020 frames I like so far.

I actually like each detail of this bike lots, but perhaps Tarmac (or even Venge) may still be better as a climbing bike, after knowing it's 360g/850g framesets with proprietary cockpit, seatpost and clamp (even if they're decently light), and 6.9kg in total with eTap AXS and Zipp 202 NSW w/o pedals.

All that to save only 6 watts of aero drag at 45km/h... I was expecting better although it still has a lot of frontal surface area with the bigger headtube and wide downtube. I'm not a fan of routing cables/hoses/wires through the headset bearing and that seatpost clamp looks like a road side fix after a failure. It does look nice overall still, the front caliper fixing looks pretty slick.

seatpost is claimed at only 142g.... not bad for proprietary.

and the integration at the front end allows hidden cables even with mechanical shifting....!

The integration is really slick, nice execution in my eyes. The seatpost clamp is ok, clean enough.

Interesting that they spec the top-end model with 28c tires instead of 25c. I'd personally pick 28c, but didn't realize that size was mainstream enough to make it the default specification for a high-end climbing bike. The Cyclingtips review says, "We all know that there are some weight-weenies out there, many of whom were probably fans of the previous iterations of the Addict RC, and they’d be laughing to see the Addict rolling on heavy 28s". Hah, that's you guys! Let the laughter commence.

Also noteworthy is one of the photos at the bottom of the web page that shows a prototype Schwalbe tire. Maybe a new Pro One?
