To troubleshoot, swap the functions you have configured for the left shifter button to the right shifter, and vice versa.AXA wrote: ↑Fri Dec 30, 2022 1:21 pmThe hidden buttons don't work properly on my Ultegra 12v group.
I've set the single tap function on my left hood to "page up" on my Garmin and on the right hood the single tap function start a new lap.
Both buttons are working but sometimes when I press the left one to switch page it also start a new lap without pressing the right one. Someone had a similar problem?
The 3 functions on my left hood are "page up, page down, map" so don't know why it also start a new lap.

Does anyone "in the know" (looking at ooo among a few others) know when the 11-36 non-series 12 speed cassette is actually coming available?
It's a unicorn at the moment, on backorder everywhere and the only site that has any info on arrival says... wait for it... October 2023.

You tried that in the past and the problem just appeared on the other shifter?AXA wrote: ↑Sat Dec 31, 2022 2:44 pmThanks for the reply but I've already tried in the past and nothing changed.cat4forlife wrote: ↑Fri Dec 30, 2022 11:55 pmTo troubleshoot, swap the functions you have configured for the left shifter button to the right shifter, and vice versa.AXA wrote: ↑Fri Dec 30, 2022 1:21 pmThe hidden buttons don't work properly on my Ultegra 12v group.

Here is a weird DA 12 issue- perhaps user error but no info found regarding this:
Brand new full gruppo- running 34-50
When in the small ring, the rear derailleur stops its movement on the 13 tooth sprocket: no 12 and no 11
BUT when in the large ring, full access is allowed down to the 11
Now if I could get that to go to the 12, that would not be bad!
So I checked to see if the "inteligent" nuance worked on the other side i.e.
if when in the 50 does it automatically limit the use of the 30 tooth sprocket.... and the answer is no.
So there is inteligence in one direction but not in the other....
The real question is, how to control or elinate this annoyance.
Shift mode is set to manual

Was this a typo? "BUT when in the small ring, full access is allowed down to the 11". Did you mean when in the BIG ring?Campyforever wrote: ↑Sat Dec 31, 2022 9:54 pmHere is a weird DA 12 issue- perhaps user error but no info found regarding this:

When in the small chain, you are not permitted to go beyond anything smaller than 13T. That is by design.

yes, that was a typo
thanks! So this is by design?
I wish I could get it to happen on the other side as well
Meaning: no big+big....
Am i the only one who did not realize this was by design?
God, I could have torn my hair out....

It's called Gear Position Control. The crazy thing is that it doesn't exist on 12-speed Ultegra (you can cross-chain all you want on 12s Ultegra).

Shifting into big-big is preferred to dropping into the small ring for very short, punchy ramps IMO, especially in a race scenario. When you shift up front you are making two big jumps and losing momentum in both shift directions... even if you are performing a very quick compensation "synchro shift."
On the other hand it pretty much never makes sense to be in small-small combos.

It still would be nice to able to lock-out the big/big combo?

Here is another DA 12 question:
There are only 3 "approved" chainring combos- 34/50, 35/52 and 42/54
What would happen if an aftermarket 40 is combined with a 50 or if a 40 is added to the 52?
I can speculate that shifting will not be any good.... but has anyone experimented with alternative
chainrings? Are there any rules to follow?
