Thanks for your reply..
My bad I didn’t explain myself correctly as English is not my first language..
I have one bike equipped with a full 2x DA9200 group set with Roval Rapide CLX, another bike is equipped with a full 2x Sram Red AXS with a gravel wheelset
The latter is a gravel bike, so my idea is to buy 2 rotor 11-36 cassettes to fit the 2 different wheel sets. So that when I travel I could just bring my gravel bike and if those rotor cassetta work it would be easier to swap wheel sets
I presume your gravel bike is set up with full AXS at the moment inclusing AXS cassette & chainrings and a Flattop chain? If so, why not just use a Sram 10-36?
That’a correct, I thought that potentially putting my road bike wheel set with rotor 11-36 requires different chain length compared to a 10-36.. so having the same cassette maybe solves this
Problem is you need an AXS cassette so Rotor or Shimano are no good. What wheels are you using?

Thanks for the explanation
I hoped a rotor 11-36 would be ok for the few times I’d use it with a full AXS setup.
I sold a pair of Roval Terra CL I and pondering on which new wheelset to buy

Chain length usually depends on big-big ring/cog and chainstay length. And almost always there are way longer chainstays in gravel bikes.

Has anyone run into a similar issue?
Roval CL50. DT 350 Road hub. Tarmac SL6.
The thin washer that sits behind the largest sprocket on the 12spd HAS BEEN REMOVED. With it in place the situation was even worse.
When the wheel is mounted in the frame the cassette lockring sits extremely close to the frame (the derailleur hanger bolts from the outside). Also when shifted to the smallest sprocket the chain runs with minimal clearance to the frame.

I asked about the 11-34t because I had an earlier version that I couldn’t get to be quiet in the 5th gear no matter what.
I’ve got two smallish issues with R8100.
On my new Cannondale SSE3 (2022) I’m having a similar set of issues where it’s really noisy in 52/22t (which happens to be where I was running much of the day on a rolling 50-miler).
I think the shop cut the chain a little short, but no matter what adjustments I make, there is still quite a bit of noise.
Should I remove the adhesive washer at the back of the cassette and give that a try? Is it likely to be an early gen cassette before they fixed this? It’s annoying.
I rode mostly in Z1 and Z2 today, but pushed several of the climbs at 90-95% FTP. It was windy with a bit of traffic and 1000m of climbing over the ride. I averaged 87rpm, whereas I really would’ve preferred to be closer to 90-95rpm. I think I would really prefer a 50/34, 11-34t set up. My bike (a 58cm) came with 175mm cranks which also doesn’t help.
I mean I’m strong enough to push 36/30t up some steep stuff, I just don’t like to do it a lot. Yesterday I went up a 600m climb that averaged 14.3% and peaked well above 20%. Made it to the top, but was really grinding and out of the saddle a lot.
Sometimes it would be nice on Z2 and recovery rides to not have to do 325watts to maintain a reasonable cadence on some of these 12+% kickers.
Am I nuts for thinking about going 50/34t with an 11-34t or 11-36t? And maybe even a 170mm or 165mm crankarm (I’m 188cm). I’ve experimented before and kind of like it.

I'm running a P2M G-X PM with 48/31 GRX chainrings along with a 11-34. Once I get used to low gearing I don't want to give it up. 48-11 is just barely enough of a high gear for me. I'm also running a short crank (155mm) and I'm 170cm tall with a 80cm inseam.

I've got an 11 speed S-Works SL7 with Dura Ace, there's some decent offers on group sets out there and I'm tempted to upgrade.
Apologies if this has been covered earlier in the post but it's a bit much to go through it all. Is it worth the upgrade and those of you that fitted the new group set yourself how was the fitting?
Thanks

How is the front shifting with that set up?

Perfect. I used the 'road' shorter crank axle so the chainrings are within the Dura Ace FD spec as far as the chainline goes. The 17T front shift does create a big cadence change but it didn't take long for me to get used to it. The smaller 48T big ring and a 11-34 cassette allows me to stay on the big ring most of the time, until I hit an extended climb where the 31T makes more sense due to less cross-chaining. I do fewer FD shifts as a result using this gear combo.

From a performance standpoint, yes, it's worth it for the upgrade. I still have bikes with 11-speeds that I ride regularly, and the differences are very apparent to me. But some people will claim they can't tell the difference or even the 11-speed is superior. That to me is very odd....

I have upgraded from 11 speed rim to 12 speed rim. Essentially the only real change is one extra sprocket and smaller mechs. Brakes etc are essentially the same.
As I’m in the industry I’m paying trade price, but if I was paying retail I’m not sure 9250 is a big enough change to warrant upgrading.

Thanks guys, do we find the hoods any more comfortable? Is it right that the battery life between charges is poor compared to 11 speed which seems to last months
