Love the new hoods and no brake rub. But noisy RD and almost never dropped a chain on 9100, now it’s a fairly regular occurrenceLedZeppelin007 wrote:Does anyone else kind of miss R9100?

Although i have bigger hands (i’m 1m93) i like the shape, off the R9100, shifters more.
It was more quiet, no rattling chains issues, no cassette problems, front derailleur had limit screws and never had a single chain drop.
Yeah it’s maybe faster shifting in front and rear but that the most important thing in the world?
For all the above reasons I changed to a single speed Sram Red AXS. Apart from the shifters (still prefer the R9100 above anything) and marginal little bit slower shifting it performs better and is it more quiet (at this moment). Can’t speak about the front derailleur.
Now i speak about my own personal experience and problems. I can believe that there are people with 0 issues.

Calipers rubbing? Fixable with new gen Shimano calipers, trickstuff, campagnolo or magura ones.robertbb wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 11:24 pmWhat was wrong with the disc version of 11sp di2?sealucky wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 5:26 pmnot at all if we are talking about disc versionLedZeppelin007 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 1:55 amDoes anyone else kind of miss R9100?

Hey guys,
I'm just waiting to get my bike rebuilt with 12 speed - who I consider a very reputable/skilled mechanic mentioned to me that I should run it wired rather than wireless. He reckons the shifting is faster when set up wired rather than semi wireless and adding 1 small cable that can run with the hydraulic line it was worth doing. Has anyone else heard this? I can't find it mentioned anywhere (not that I would expect all the press releases to mention it)..

No, it's not faster when wired but the battery lasts longer. You'll need at least two additional wires, not just one.
Installation itself is easier if you don't have to route one cable from the BB to one shifter and another one from shifter to shifter.

This may be a little unfair/judgemental, but this is how I read your mechanic's comment:STUB1 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 31, 2023 11:45 amHey guys,

I don't specifically miss the rim brake version of 11 speed, but I do miss the 'it just worked' factor. Neither I nor 2 different shops can totally eliminate chain throw with the 8170 FD, and I preferred the old hood shape.LedZeppelin007 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 1:55 amDoes anyone else kind of miss R9100?

I'm very seriously considering selling it and seeing if I can pick up 11sp DA for the same money. I did consider AXS, but decided that's too drastic
