Ok. I've never tried 9100 chainrings on 9200 cranks. However the video I used as reference during last season seemed to indicate the chainrings were cross compatible: https://youtu.be/IYx3RR9rai4

Anyone using 9100 chainrings w/ DA 12 speed successfully? I'm having a tough time sourcing a 54/40t 9200 chainring.
Yes, it is compatible, it was mentioned million times here. You have to use the whole crankset.

9100 rings don’t fit on 9200 crank arms. Shimano reversed on side of the arms so they aren’t compatible.

One year later - What are everyone's thoughts on WIRED vs WIRELESS?

I spent the last season riding it in stock config and could get around 2200 km on one charge. Will be rebuilding the bike soon and wondering if adding the wires is worth it.

Also is it just a case of plugging in 2 SD-300 wires - 1) To connect the shifters between each other 2) To connect one of the shifters with the battery? Any better/more elegant solutions such as a Y-splitter?

I've no experience w/ Shimano wireless, but I did just run a R8150 wired rim brake install last month, and it was easy. I personally don't see much benefit from wireless in the common case. Running the cable from a shifter to the battery took just a few minutes, and if you're running hydro brake lines anyways then it's only a tiny time overhead.

The only benefit I can see is in the case where a cable fails randomly. You'd have to try to fish a new one around the BB or pull the old one out, with the new one attached, which might be annoying. I haven't seen or heard of any random cable failures personally so it was no issue for me to accept 8150 being wired.

Coming from someone who is not a shop mechanic and who has not used or installed wireless groupsets, I can see some significant improvements in installing wireless vs. wired, even for the home mechanic, but once installed, they should be completely indistinguishable. Setting up a wired system can be a pain, especially if you're working on an oddball size (like my XXL frames). Waiting on wires is annoying, and installing takes time. The only reason I'm reluctant to go 12-speed on any of my bikes is (1) cost and (2) compatibility. I have a lot of 11-speed bikes, at the moment, and the prospect of going 12-speed isn't appealing in that sense. We'll see what comes of 12-speed GRX, since I'll probably have to build up my wife's next gravel bike using that group set, so I might just upgrade mine while I'm at it.

Still waiting for my new cage. I'm going to ask my LBS to call Shimano Monday.

Btw anyone figured out how to quiet down the buzzing shifter? My left shifter is making this buzz noise while going over slighlty rought road at 20-22mph and it is getting worse.
I've been trying to find in this thread a description of what the issue is with the cage, and what derailleur it affects (does it affect the 105 derailleur?) but I can't seem to find it.

What's the deal here?
See this post: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=156208&start=8760#p1762880

It appears to only affect the 12-speed Dura-Ace rear derailleur. The issue is at certain gear combinations and at specific cadence - that's how mine showed up - the chain comes into contact with the chain guard on the RD cage.
Hi, is the sound gone with the new cage installed? I have the same problem. Look what my chain was made to the chain protector on RD.

Is it possible to use a 12-speed newer shimano rear derailleur on an 11-speed di2 groupset? Don't care what shimano says, interested if it'll work in practice, since 11 speed di2 rear derailleurs are non existing at this point in time, and won't be available for at least a few months later....

Short answer is no.

Different connection, different firmware.

Can you use new Dura Ace crankset with old 11 speed chain etc? Wanting to switch from 175 cranks to 170 and with dual power meter.. cannot get stock of 4iii or Stages in older 9100 model, only the newer version. I believe that the older 9100 dual sided 4iii and Stages were not that great anyway (?).

Noise is gone with modified cage. Noise is gone with new cage from Shimano.
