Hi. What is the approximate weight of the size 53 with Red Axs group and the stock Vision 40 wheels? Thanks.

Around 7.5 without pedals.

Frameset including BB / headset and stem + seatpost together is a touch above 2kg. Add all else on top.
Minimum bike categories required in the stable:
Aero bike | GC bike | GC rim bike | Climbing bike | Climbing rim bike | Classics bike | Gravel bike | TT bike | Indoors bike

Hi all,

I bought a brand new Orbea Orca (OMX) with Shimano Ultegra Di2 12 speed and have two questions:

1.
My seatpost clamp doesn´t hold the saddle when clamped with 9NM. There seems to be play into the seatpost head. The mechanism inside has play. It´s not 100% tight.
My dealer said that all of his OMX do have this issue. He clamped the seat with 14NM, which is far more than the official limit. Now, it´s tight. Is this true? Anyone with the same problem?
When I look at the clamp mechanism, I can imagine that the tolerance is just not good. The mechanism has to clamp the saddle rails AND the vertically adjustment at the same time. If there is only little play and both is not 100% the same, then it can´t work. Strange mechanism.

2.
I´ve bought the version without power meter and would like to add a single sided left crank power meter.
Both tests if the fit from Stages and 4iiii fail (AAA battery and 10 Allen key). Too less space.
I wonder if one of them will fit anyhow, because they sell it as an option from the factory, as well.

Thank you!

Hello,

me again.

with regards to point #2 above: I can say that a stages left side powermeter fits perfectly on a size 55 OMX frame with Ultegra 12speed 172,5mm crank. Enough space to the frame.

3. What is your experience with the paint quality with regards to scratches? My paint seems to be very sensitive to scratches. Clear coating on the glossy parts gets scratches when touching it by hand or a dry micro fiber towell.

Hello!

Anyone upgraded their 2020 version (or later) from 11 speed to 12speed?

I'm looking to go from mech Ultegra 11s (r8050) to di2 Ultegra 12 (r8170) but orbea'S blue paper says it is not compatible?

Are their differences in the newer frames?

Thanks.

In which place exactly does it say so? There aren't any specific details in the frame which would prohibit using electronic Shimano groupset :noidea:

They have some Orca with 12sp available on a website. I don't see a reason why it wouldn't be compatible.

It says so in the blue paper (https://orbea.dash.app/browse/fe00e6eb- ... ea-manuals).

I mailed Orbea and they confirmed that this is correct, however I ignored their advice and started my rebuild. Everything fits so far!

Thanks for the replies.

As for the size of the Orca, it will be a 53. I'm 181cm tall with inseam 83cm. (32.7 inch). Tried a 51 (too small) and a 55 (felt too big) so ended with a 53.
I can confirm that with similar measurements (182 height, 84 inseam) the Orca OMR in 55 felt too stretched out for me, so I'm happily riding a 53.
