I have a 2015 DSW rim brake Allez (pre-sprint) and one of my good riding buddies had a rim brake sprint. Both of us have done 70+ mile rides one the bikes. Is it the ideal bike for long ride, probably not, but it can certainly be done. The aluminum is stiff and has some road buzz, but its not ride ending. IMO, the aspect that isn't maybe ideal for long rides on a 1st gen. rim brake sprint is just the aggressive position.... again, not ideal maybe, but if you're fit and fairly flexible, this isn't really an issue. If you really should be on a Roubaix, or you'r previous bike was a Roubaix, then yes, a Sprint is going to feel rough.
Thanks so much. I will keep persuing the Allez Sprint then.CrankAddictsRich wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 12:31 amI have a 2015 DSW rim brake Allez (pre-sprint) and one of my good riding buddies had a rim brake sprint. How about fenders? I haven't really seen anyone putting fenders on Allez Sprint (rim brake version) in this topic. Can it be done? Has anyone done it?

There's no mounts in place to put fenders... it is a race bike. I'm sure there are ways that it could be done, but it IMO that usually looks pretty janky because... well... it's a race bike.
I agree. Fenders don't make a bike pretty. But if you're forced to put fenders on your bike 5 months a year, then you do the best you can do with what you've got. And even though you have to put fenders on your bike, you still want a fast bike.CrankAddictsRich wrote: ↑Sat Feb 18, 2023 1:28 pmThere's no mounts in place to put fenders... it is a race bike. This is my current bike - Caad 10. That's also a racebike. Winterbikes actually have a lot in common whith critbikes. You want something that is fast, but still not too expensive, in order to be able to replace it, if you wreck it. The risk of wrecking it is bigger in the winter as well as while riding crits.

I've got the current Allez Sprint, I do two 3 hour plus rides a weekend on it. Longest I've done on it is 4 hours, it was absolutely fine.eli76141 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 2:21 pmThanks so much. Had it since last September and genuinly love it, I've not ridden my 2020 supersix hm much at all since getting it. Got it for winter miles and races first aspect it's bang on. Not hit a race on it yet but quick group rides it's been great.
Sounds really good. Do you have some pictures of your Allez?19dford78 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 9:12 pmI've got the current Allez Sprint, I do two 3 hour plus rides a weekend on it. Longest I've done on it is 4 hours, it was absolutely fine.

Only things I've changed:
A 40cm bar swap out of the 44cm that it came with. It's a 58cm frame.
SL7 130 stem on it and knocked a couple of spacers out.
Used the Hollowgram 35 wheel set I had in the garage
Looks really good. And seems like you're getting full value from it.19dford78 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 20, 2023 9:48 am65849391-64FD-473D-B58E-1E2798051876.jpeg600331A2-B315-4971-9DC0-3B455D19B693.jpeg
I don't have many of it to be honest, not sure why. Here's a couple after rides. It's usually caked in UK winter road grime and comes up a treat after a quick shower. Maybe I should take pics after the shower

I have not seen any of the new colors at any store, offline and online... I <3 the raw aluminium one.

Hey everyone, my allez 2022 frameset just arrived and I startet to build it. Well I already failed at the first step: routing the hydraulic cable.
Do you have any tips for me there? Its not my first bike with internal rounting but i am not able to route the cable...
Do i start from the chainstays? i guess so.
How on earth is it possible to route the cable above the inside of the BB?? I can not even manage it to feed it through any hole in the BB...
Please give me some tips!!
