You need some kind of rim tape to use inner tubes and "tubeless tape" is just about the lightest option there is aside from those rim plugs, which probably don't work well with TPU.

My favorite color, what size? Your scale may be reading a bit high cause my Gen 7 with same pedals, tires, mounts and cages (no bottles) was also 8.000kg in what looks to be 2 sizes bigger. I'd think yours is lighter than it says
It might be. I used a cheap luggage scale. It's a medium.cleanneon98 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2024 1:04 pmMy favorite color, what size? I'm going to swap to tpu tubes which will drop a bit too.

I gave it a quick ride the other day. It's comfy. It's quick...is it quicker than my 2019 venge, I'm not sure about that on a flat road. It certainly seems to want to climb faster. It seems to want you to put the power down.

Does anyone have personal experience and/or recommendations for replacement decals? Specifically, I'd like to get something more matte to replace or cover the shiny gold downtube logo. The most promising set I've seen requires removing the existing logo decal, which I'm not sure is possible and also reluctant to attempt.

Not for this bike but I have bought vinyl decal sets on eBay for a pair of Bontrager Aeolus wheels in the past. The sizing was perfect and covered up the ghosted shadows left by the original stickers perfectly (because the sun didn't fade the finish behind the old stickers).twoangstroms wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2025 4:02 pmDoes anyone have personal experience and/or recommendations for replacement decals? Why would they require removal and not just go over top of the existing ones? Unless they are just a smidge undersized

Maybe it's a language or wording issue? They say it's important to remove existing "stickers" rather than place these over. https://bikedecalreplace.com/products/t ... -decal-set

This (https://www.cycledecal.com/product/fram ... yl-decals/) also says not to cover any other decal?
Hollowgram crank? How did you fit that, long spindle?

Yeah as suspected it's probably because they can't guarantee the dimensions will match so if their vinyl is just a half mm small one way or another it's going to not fully cover it, or if the letters are not fully aligned on the sheet when they cut it.twoangstroms wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2025 4:54 pmMaybe it's a language or wording issue? If it were me, I'd take a gamble on them but cut the sheet and apply one letter at a time to ensure I got the alignment perfect and didn't have the old logo peeking out. There IS still a chance that you'll get some poking through if one of their letters is not exactly the right size. If you apply the entire logo at once and align your T the chances of something being off by the time you get to K are a lot higher. Hope that makes sense
