Just wanted to thank you, this is the exact color and size I'm considering, and was really curious as to actual weight. Let us know how it rides!lazyriderzhao wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2024 1:26 pmgot my Spear RDC size L in Chronos paint, or Liquid Sliver?

I'm in the UK and ordered via Florian. You will almost certainly get charged import, I am collecting mine from him (I am regularly in NL) to avoid this. I havw also had radio silence which isn't great. I contacted Seka directly and they told me my frame was currently coming through production and should be with Florian in a few weeks.
Ok thanks for the reply I loose confidence very quickly when sellers dont reply to messages for no apparent reason.gloscherrybomb wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 10:59 amI'm in the UK and ordered via Florian. I received mine from Florian. I had the best experience with him - he responded immediately to all my questions and also was very cooperative and friendly, when I had a few phone calls with him. But maybe he is now very busy due to the increase of Seka spear orders...
I built one of these up today. Size small, stock DA 12spd groupset, Assioma pedals, generic rims on DT240 hubs, as pictured 7.1kg.

Yes I think definitely <6.8kg light if you went non stock stuff for sure! The saddle is a Bontrager Hilo carbon.gloscherrybomb wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 4:58 pmConsidering the wheels, saddle and pedals, easily sub 6.8kg by normal measurements.
You also aero tested it. General thoughts?
We were impressed by the Seka setup, they really did care about performance and we did decent amounts of CFD on the design to compare with previous models, not just the wind tunnel test when they came over to the UK. In terms of takeaways from that test I think the standout was the Giant, I'd not really seen the stock spec in person before and it was really crazy to have poor components like the handlebars which really killed it from an aero perspective. The other bikes were much more similar in terms of aero performance which you'd expect for all rounders with integrated kit. I'm sure something like a Cannondale SystemSix or another pure aero bike would be a step up in terms of aero performance but that wasn't really the goal for the Seka Spear.
A good amount of thought has gone into all the parts for it - as you can see from the multitude of unique bits that come with it from the posts above, everything is designed in sync, as you'd expect from a bike that's aiming to be top end boutique. I also liked how we could get the Rapier handlebars in the exact narrow dimensions we were after too, that was nice.
We did pay for it! No freebies.
Also it's not my bike, but I can ask about feedback when it's been ridden a bit. I don't have hands on experience with those other bikes I'm afraid.

Anyone know what the minimum seatpost insertion length is? I am short leg/long torso (740mm seat height) so wondering if I will get away with the 300mm seatpost on the LR size. Also, is the only difference between the RDC and regular Spear the slight weight reduction? TIA.

It's probably best not to chase every single new poster to join your facebook group. It just gets annoying and clogs up the thread. As more Spears get to people the group will grow organically and you'll start to see some reviews.
