So I just got a bike for and I need an extra 2.5cm of seat height that my foil seat post doesn’t have. Any advice/long seat post recs?

Do you have the Duncan SL or the elastomer insert post? My extra Duncan SL is 275mm from center of saddle rails to min insertion line. I've never seen a road bike setup with that much post showing. You COULD set up a bike with a longer seatpost than that, a 140mm stem, and a stack of headset spacers. BUT it will look and handle better with a longer taller frame, shorter stem, and fewer headset spacers. Having a tiller stem and the front axle under you feels sketchy.

For reference, here's my Foil with 245mm of Hylix seatpost exposed:

I have the elastomer seat post. I guess this means I’ll be getting the Duncan SL. Have people been riding the hylix seatpost for a while now? Is it any good?

How long is your elastomer post, center of saddle rails to min insertion line?

I'm happy with my Hylix. At 245mm it's barely long enough and slipped without friction paste, but has held tight since. If you want to buy my Duncan SL DM me.

About to pull the trigger on a hylix seatpost. Can you tell me your weight?
I am 80kg and a bit concerned which version I should get if I decide to buy a Hylix Seatpost

I'm 77-80kg. I think I only saw the light version and it's been fine.

Hi Guys,

Building up a second Foil for My girlfriend, got a really good deal on a Team DSM Spare Bike. But the stem combo is 140/380, soo way to long for her.
If someone is interested, just send me an email. And does somebody know if in this forum is a topic like for sale? Couldn't find anything.
Cheers guys!
Is this bar still available? If so. Could you please send me some pics and measurements or the drop and reach?

I have cft seatpost and it's like 5-10mm to short for me, min insertion to rails is like 22cm and I see that SL is 27cm, can somebody confirm or do I measure something wrong? Also I see hylix seatpost but I saw another topic with scams, is there some place that is safe enough to buy the hylix seatpost?

Sorry,
The bar is sold:(
Otherwise the measurements are always the width on the top and it's 2cm more in the drops.
For example 380 top/400 drop 400 top/420 drop
Hylix seatpost is solid, but my weight is 60 kilos. But no problem and no noises! But only 4,5 Nm torque;(

Weird that the elastomer post is that much shorter than the SL. At about 245mm (min insertion line to saddle rails) the Hylix should be long enough for you, as well as the Duncan SL (275mm). I've bought my Hylixs off ebay.

So back again from LBS after some issues. Solid seatpost is still in back order to check creaking. Furthermore Scott now suddenly states that my 3rd Pro Stealth is sliding because it's a 7mm round rails and not a (carbon) 9x7?! Others with a 7mm rails without sliding issues?

Edit; Scott claims post should be compatible with 7x7 and 7x9

In April Scott USA told me this, "40cm wide bars will start coming in next depending on the length of stem you need. 100mm 07/26/2024, 110mm 08/07/2024, 120mm 10/08/2024."
I've been waiting until the end of Sept to ask again about the 400/120 I want.
