Daysaver "Essential8"
This got my attention. The Essential 8 + Coworking5 will cut my tools carrying weight by almost half and have the same amount of functions. Already ordered the setup.

Arrived just in time for an event this weekend. Fit and finish of the tools are great. Cut my tool weight nearly in half from what I was carrying around before. Also thinner and more compact, with less stuff rattling around. Also, have a KMC quick link installed so add a gram or two for that.

Old Setup, still excellent tools, they are now in the back of the car for backup and those last-minute adjustments.

I just had a negative experience with my Daysaver.
The 6mm bit got stuck in my thru axle and I was only able to remove it with a plier back at home.

Noted. I tried it on my thru axle bike and it seemed ok. It's a backup tool I carry in my jersey. Usually doesn't see any action, but I like to be prepared.

Seems like that might be an indication that the thru-axle was torqued a tad to high.

Hammerhead Karoo 2 on their massive sale. Recently moved away from a Garmin watch so now I might be able to go away from Garmin entirely if I like the Karoo.

246 €. Not exactly cheap, but approximately the same as I paid for the Aether in 2019.

Me too. At this price it is only a little more than an Edge 130+.

Have you had a chance to use it yet? I've used it a bit and really like it a lot more than I expected. I thought I'd miss more of the Garmin features, but really I'm only missing the live tracking (which it can do but has to be tethered), and the incident notifications. And the latter is only for emergencies.

The integration of climber and strava live segments is really well done. Super easy to flip back and forth between the two.
