I'd like to plan a road cycling holiday next summer in Europe. Ideally France, Spain or Italy.

For various reasons unlikely I'll be able to take a bike so looking to hire one. I'm relatively easy on where to go, so would prefer to base it around a reliable and high quality hire location.

I'd prefer somewhere mountainous and have done Girona and Mallorca already.

Any recommendations for a hire place that meets my criteria?

you do know europe's not a country, right? and this question of yours is like "'I'm going to states this summer, please recommend a good bbq joint"

you should search for similar topics - it was discussed here at least several times

I'm well aware that Europe isn't a country, since I'm a European.

I'm just looking for recent recommendations on where to hire a good road bike, since I'd be happy cycling pretty much anywhere, but I'm not able to take my own bike.

Is there anywhere you'd like to recommend?

There is this outfit Bcyclet https://bcyclet.com/bike-rental/road/
Based in Geneva but they say they deliver anywhere in the alps.
Their shop is nice as well. I haven't tried them (locals mostly don't rent).

I've heard of several people who rented nice bikes in Malaucène or Bédoin, at the foot of Mt Ventoux. But if its a summer trip you'll be too hot

Based on my internet research, not personal experience, I would check out BreakOut Sport in Corvara. The Alta Badia area should meet your wish for climbing.

Then it has to be the Alps, I have never needed to hire a bike as have always driven, but this place appears to have a selection of premium bikes and also in an area of premium mountain climbs!

or here.

Betting that there's loads of rental places in Bourg d’Oisans, just never needed them.

Hmmm can't imagine Tenerife being much fun in the summer!
Having ridden on GC quite a few times recently, i know how hot that can be in October!

Persoanlly i'd go for somewhere central in the dolomites for summer. Arabba gets my vote.
Cant help with hire shops though

Would agree. staying around there is ideal, we spent a week there, and there's so much riding to do. Glorious part of the world.
Easy enough to get to.

Well I suppose. It's more of a winter destination for Northern Europeans...

I do their social media, and they deliver anywhere, but sometimes the fees can get high for a single bike. If you are flying in, consider Geneva Airport, they are a very short drive from there. And send me a DM if you want some route recommendations :)

I'm asking in this thread instead of opening a new thread. I'm going down to France to watch the tour and do some cycling in the Lyon/alps area. Looking for a 5-7 day rental. Any recommendations on road bike hire that I can contact? Anything from alu rim brake to carbon disc brake.
