Most of the (Ex-) Stars actually love PL.
Ask Tom Boonen, Cav, Remco, Bettini, Musseeuw, Tafi, Keisse, Gilbert, Terpstra, ...
Even VDB loved Patlev.
He might not be so bad when there arent journalists around ;)
And it's easy to see why, he's great at building winning teams and putting his stars in a position where they have an opportunity to win.

And it's always his star riders he's complaining about. The riders that he has hired to win bike races. Show me one article where he's complaining about a domestique not winning.
I really don't understand your point. So it's ok to call a star rider "weak minded"?

He obviously doesn't trash talk domestiques in the public because the reponse would be "who?".

Lefevere clearly has talent when it comes to the action on the road. But I imagine he has not spent much time contemplating the impact on organization performance from various approaches to leadership. Not everyone is an intuitive manager of people, and no doubt more traditional authoritarian approaches generally don't work. It is entirely possible he could have been much more successful with a different approach. But perhaps sports is an exception (like the military) where a more authoritarian approach can be effective. No excuse for the moronic statements though.

He's a great cycling mind but he definitely doesnt fit in with the woke culture. In other parts of the world he's all good.
Woke? WTF does "woke" have to do with it. How about just treating employees with basic dignity and acting with integrity. Doing so is also the best way to extract discretionary effort from employees, which is what separates great organizations from others. And if that doesn't motivate you to treat employees properly, than consider that it is also the law in most places. Of course misbehaviour is going to get called out. OTOH maybe that's what "woke" means to you. :noidea:
I just put woke in there is it’s a word often used to describe people who like to cancel others.

I have no idea if he’s a bad employee or not. If he is then people shouldn’t work for him. That’s up to them.

I'm just not for cancelling people. If people dont behave how you want then cancel them, I find it pathetic. If people are truly bad there are laws in place. If people want to bitch and moan on social media and forums fair enough.

I'm not going as far as saying that I personally think he should be canceled, but in light of recent times, I'm just surprised that others haven't is all. I started this thread to get different perspectives which has been helpful. Still think the guy's an A-hole tho!

please tell me how many white privileged rich men have ever faced consequences of their toxic behavour, or even crimes. there's this 'prince' Andrew known for raping kids (let's call it what it iss shall we) - his supposed punishemnt is saying bye to a royal title... omg, I already feel for poor fella..

PL would've been gone long time ago if pro cycling hadn't been such a nightmare for any investor. hope that's gonna change some day but I remember writing similar things on this very board like 15 years ago..
Are you okay, show me where PL hurt you, have a good cry.

I'm not really a fan of the "cancel" stuff.
I quite like the guy although he is very ruthless and straight to the point.

I can see why people don't he's certainly not PC.

One thing I am surprised by is how vocal Jose Bean is in her commentary, she always manages to have a pop at him. Jose definitely doesnt like him.
Even though I like Patrick I'm also a big fan of Jose as a commentator, she's great.

Some people work harder when you tell them they are losers. Some people do not. If I ever was told I could not do it, I did my best to prove them wrong. For me, it feels good to be right. I suspect that there are some coaches, bosses, etc that know this and follow this method. This method does not work for everyone but with so many different athletes, it seems to work for some. So, you may not like it and call the guy an a$$hole, but it seems like the proof is in the pudding.

If giving comfort hugs bring you to your best, find a team that offers that.

One thing for certain, however you bring in a paycheck, you can leave if you do not like it. If a business can't keep employees, then maybe they will change. Way too many people would prefer to whine vs doing something about it. Life is too short to work for a bad boss.
