Looks like he went down. Did the bars cause the crash or did the crash break the bars?
Crashes broke both bars.

Well, not 'just' broke, according to his team and Canyon, that bike had already been in a crash, so they were probably already damaged, then probably couldn't handle Mathieu's power and the vibration from the cobbles anymore so they eventually failed properly.

I think it was down to the non-standard lever clamp canyon used.

Bottom line is these bars aren't up to the task. I'm not necessarily anti-carbon handlebar but if they didn't have to use these hokey-ass handlebars and could use normal bars they could take the hit.

From what I could see of the crashes, those bars each had a good sharp blow from the outside. That is not something they are designed to take.

No kidding. But if you're riding on cobbles and might crash maybe use alloy bars (or at least carbon bars that don't have a janky/compromised design) that almost certainly won't break.

So you want alloy forks, alloy fork steerers, alloy seatposts and also alloy frames? Lol

IIRC it was both those things together. Clipping the mirror did the damage at the point weakened by the clamp at an earlier race and then he went over a pothole in the cobblestone sector at Le Samyn.
Couldn't easily find the article that highlighted the fix right now but it's out there if anyone can use google-fu for more than my two minute break.

"Especially women"

Why?

Women go through this thing called the menstrual cycle.
To remove any residual doubt anyone might have about the meaning.

Wish it works our for you.
