in a long term perspective market doesn't like uniformity. if *everyone* goes disc and most manufacturers offer disc bikes only, someone sooner or later will try to fill that void. successfully i hope

And this is why my next line of bikes will have quill stems.

The challenge for Chapter2 will be whether they release a new rim-brake bike, not reissue an existing frame where the cost of the tooling/molds has long been amortized. We honestly don’t even know if they did that. We know that Trek still has large numbers of 2018 Emonda SLR and 2020 Madone SLR rim-brake frame blanks warehoused and they are still for sale.

Sorry, Canyon already did that with their aero bike a few years back, but no rim brake model.... :D

The issue might become getting new rim brake groupset more than getting rim brake frame. Most new groupsets are released in disc brake version, at least from the big three manufacturers. As it seems SR WRL will be disc only, leaving only Shimano with a rim brale option. And older Campagnolo groupsets, but who knows for how long those will be around?

Pre-2023 Force AXS rim-brake levers are still plentiful and should remain plentiful for some time.

Yeah, it's fully possible that we never will see any new rim brake groupsets.
I think this outgoing RED AXS, might be the last premium alternative from Sram.

To be honest, i bought Red AXS just to have a groupset that i hope they will save spare parts for.
I thought, if i ride Etap until it give up, there might be no new similar groupset around.
Even Red AXS might not be available. Plus my frame is actually only accepting wireless.
There are no holes for anything than rear brake cable.
I think the dude who bought my Etap had a bargain. I sold it with lots of stuff for 860 Euro.
