Every other pronunciation of “sram”, especially in Europe. (S-ram etc)

While I dont think I have used the word cockpit all that often in my years in the industry, because I too dont care for it, I definately have never, never ever, never ever ever, used the word brifter.

I just cant' stand the word "training" referring to riding. I go on a ride, I go riding, I ride a bike - I don't freakin train. when I stop by a lbs or smth on a way back and I'm asked "are you coming back from training" I feel an itch to harm someone physically lol

next thing I hate is the sock/sleeve lenght that's supposedly todays standard. I sometimes run into cycling buddies in their summer outfits - shorts, flip flops etc, and they just look like idiots with almost entire calves white as a chalk.

Clearly the superior portmanteau is shake lever.

I'd like to add 'hoops', 'steed', 'power transfer', 'smash it', 'full gas' and 'winner winner chicken dinner' to the list.

Brifters makes sense. Obviously an amalgam of brake and shifter which is actually what it is. If you call it a shifter, then where is the brake? And if you call it a brake, then where is the shifter? Downtube shifters, bar end shifters. and then the brifter....

If axles are shafts that spin and spindles are shafts that something spins on...

then shouldn't crank spindles be crank axles and hub axles be hub spindles?

If yes, but actually no. The definition of axle has never been shaft that spins (the primary definition of axle is the thing in the middle of a wheel), and traditional textile spindles are in fact things that you spin.

This does leave open pedal spindles as an outlier - but they just look like spindles.

Don't worry, soon the term 'cockpit' can't be used and your wish will come true.
