Bidon / bottle model & color which will look acceptably good after weeks and months of use

Hey guys.

I am trying to find what is the best colour for bidon/bottle, and maybe also brand/model.

1) BRAND/MODEL/TYPE :

I had couple of

- white or black Elite Fly >> these are getting scratched the fastest from all bottles i had.
- Camelback Podium, these are good, especially the open function
- specialized purist >> good looking (black), but i scratched them soon and one of them has leaking lid a bit
- zefal sense grip >> cheap, acceptably looking but nothing fancy

2) Colour

I only had black or shadow transparent.
Is there a chance that completely transparent bottles or maybe white bottles will look acceptably even when scratched?

Thanks.

Elite Fly transparent bottles look reasonably acceptably after some use. I don't see what could look better.

Can you post a picture how a transparent elite fly looks like after period of use you'll describe?

I can later on but I'd say bottles should be changed pretty regularly as they do get pretty rank quite quickly especially around and inside the mouth piece.

Yup, i usually scrap two sets of bidons per year. But you know, i would prefer if the bottle stays at least couple weeks looking acceptably.
I am using black bidons.
If using transparent bidons helps, i am in.

I have been using the same insulted polar bottles for years. They are not hard to clean. Not once have I thought about scratches on them.

Elite Ciussi cages with an assortment of camelback bottles. The only ones that are starting to look properly scraped and scratched are those i've used for MTB racing and/or 10+ years old. Or those with printed logos (ex team stuff, sponsorship bottles, freebies).

They're easy to clean, a gentle wash every time they are used and a proper clean once every now and again (dismantle the nozzle and soak in milton for 20 minutes, then a wash).

I'm still using bottles that are probably 15 years old.

Binned all of my old bottles and now only use the newer version Camelbak Podium clear unbranded bottles, best yet, but the amount of scratching depends on the cage.

Also, scratched bidons depends on whether you ride in gritty conditions (like gravel) or on damp/wet rides where road grit/grime takes its toll on bottle cages and bidons.

Can we assume that bidons, which are transparent or smoke-transparent prone to look better when scratched, rather than solid color?

Now what would look better, transparent or smoke-tranaparent?

Solid color on left, smoke-transparent on right.

You don't say.
I am riding in all conditions, so my bidons are scratched within a week, especially after XC race.

That's why i am looking for type+colour which looks scratched the least, so i can use them at least two three months.

I am going to test elite fly tex bidons now. Those have hardened texture which looks like it's going to last little bit longer.
