How old is your groupset on your daily ride

Campagnolo Record 10 speed, 2005 vintage, works like it's brand new. Chains, cassettes, derailleur pulleys, and g springs every now and then. Still winning the occasional masters race with it. Don't drink the cool-aid folks, you dont need 12 speeds, disk brakes, and wireless shifting to go fast. I guess they're nice if you're starting from scratch, but don't believe the marketing hype you really need it. You're being played.

SRAM Red 10 speed. Guessing 2010-2011, same groupset in two bikes.
One I have a Force 11 speed rear mech for a 32 cassette.

Frankly, I’m not surprised this thread hasn’t gotten 1000 replies already. I’m sure it is because most people here, like in the market in general, probably change bike/components every 1-1.5 years! Not passing judgement as the car that has lasts he most in my hands in the last 10 years is nearing 20 months, and it is already twice as long as the others before it!

The bike I ride most (although not daily, I like to swap between bikes ) has Ultegra 6800, approximately 50,000km on it. Rear derailleur, chainrings and cassette have been replaced but the rest is all going strong.

My oldest bike is a Principia frame from 1997 and has the Ultegra STI levers from the same time but some components (cranks, brakes) from the very first Ultegra which was transferred through a couple of previous bikes. It's all in very good shape but has probably lower mileage than the Ultegra 6800 because soon after I finished building that bike I moved countries and only get to ride it when I am back home (it's parked ayt my parents house, always nice to have a decent ride when I am there)

SR11 EPS got them when they first came out and still have them perfectly working on V3 battery now and have been intalled and removed from maybe 5 different frames since I got them ..

There's little reason to, but the step from 10s > 11s isn't that difficult right? You can use the same chains, chainrings etc. Only you need to have your bodies adjusted (don't know the English word for the machining) or simply order a few new bodies. All in all shouldn't cost you the world.

11 > 12 speed is way worse with all the new standard. I'm going to stick to 11s for a long time by the looks of it and am just fine with that (as I would be with 10s since wheels are backwards compatible).

No, you're correct, its not that difficult; there's just such a small benefit to going 11sp that I just don't care .

A couple of my wheels have hubs that are 10sp and 11sp compatible... but it's just such a small benefit, why would I spend the money to upgrade the fleet of bikes? My wife's bike is 10 speed too, and she can use my wheels, also.

It's not the number of gears, but generally I like the feel of the shifters more. Smaller, nicer in your hands, crisper feeling when shifting, electronic gears, maybe even discs etc.

Again, it might not be worth it if you have lots of equipment on 10s. I have 3 bikes on 11 speed and probably the same feeling with 11s and rim brakes. Refuse to move to 12s any time soon, but that is mainly due to a lot of item standards have changed other than just the body .

That's a fair point, perhaps I'll migrate to 11sp equipment and discs at the same time.

Or maybe I'll wait for 13sp or 15sp
