Travel with electronic shifters

How can I make sure the shifter batteries don't drain when the bike has been packed up and something moves in the bag and presses one of the shifter paddles?

It's happened to me before on a trip and is really annoying.

If I take batteries out will wireless shifters need to be re-paired?

It's very simple: you take the batteries out and insert them back in after transportation. No need to pair the shifters/derailleurs afterwards.
That's what I do when I fly with my softshell bike case.

It can be worse than that. SRAMRed 22 11 sp. have a wakeup function that turns the shifters on, when the bike is moved!!

I think SRAM AXS 12 speed also has a 'shake to wake up' function. I don't see a travel mode on the app.

I guess this means it's necessary to remove the batteries before travelling.

For those little shifter batteries: travel with a set of spares. That's what you'd want to do anyways even if the shifters had half a dozen travel modes. Half a dozen redundant travel modes, for safety. You'd still want to carry spares.

Not seen rechargeable coin cell batteries for shifters.

How long are you flying? Max 20hrs? Think riding the bike for 20hrs and you don't even think about draining the coin cells on the shifters. Get new batteries before your flight and that's it. Don't worry.

Not seen rechargeable coin cell batteries for shifters.

I have those but only use them when no primary batteries in the house. They are too unreliable and standard CR2032 are very small.
