Road bike hard case with handlebar

A couple of years ago I've seen a guy transporting his bike in an hard case at the airport. It had a really nice feature which was the possibility of transportting the bike without disassembling the handlebars. It had a T-shape allowing for the bike to be packed without messing with the handlebars.

Asked him for the case brand but now, that I'm evaluating the purshace of a hard travelling case, it seems that I've lost that note. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks.

Bike Box Alan Aero Easyfit? Not sure if they make the road version anymore, seems like they only have Tri/TT.

Scicon make a soft case version;

Or Buxum Ventoux;

I use an Evoc's Road Bike Bag Pro
I think this bag COULD be too big for some airlines!
Never heard of any rejections though.

I only fly with national carriers who have a civilised attitude to customer service. Ryanair & Easyjet very often cost more once you add the bike! The Bike Box Alan one is nearly the same size as the Evoc one.

No such thing unless we are talking about something like a short haul service flying something with less than 19-seats (Cessna Caravan, SkyCourrier, Dehavland Twin Otter), as otherwise, you simply pay extra/oversize baggage fees.

Sorry to hear that. Although it must have been a really hard blow to do that as there’s a brace that attached to the Velcro panels inside to prevent that.

Will delta come up for the damage?

I also have an Evoc Road Bike Bag Pro. I have only flown with it once, but it seemed to hold up nicely and protected the bike perfectly.

Nope. And I don't have experience with damaged luggage.

Pretty much all the airlines have pretty clear policy that they won't cover something like a bike broken in a case, particularly if the outer bag isn't clearly damaged or if it isn't a totally hard case.

I think the pole would prevent a crush from a heavy object being laid on top of it, but will do nothing against a point impact between the ribs. I am not sure whether I am just going to try to sell the case and get a fully hard one or whether I'll just try to add more padding to the frame inside the case. Not sure the latter would have protected it in this case but maybe. Evoc ofc just said "bummer".
