Just had both my tires blow out on a descent. Neither sealed and both lost all pressure despite having 40ml of sealant in there. I'm blaming the tires. I managed to keep the bike in control and slow to a stop

you mean you double flatted ?... dont use the word blow out since that can be confused with blow off or atleast some will think that.

Both tires went to 0 psi in like 5 seconds despite being full of sealant. One has a hole in the tread and the other in the sidewall.
I'm not gonna bother patching it. I don't trust these tires anymore.

What caused the double puncture, a longitudinal crack in the road surface? I’ve got 2200km on mine. Two punctures in that time. Right now I trust these tires about as much as I trust GP5K TT TRs and Corsa Pros. The only tires I completely distrust in terms of puncture resistance are Pro One TTs.

I think it was a pothole but I was in a group and I was going very fast so I did not see what it was.
I've had these tires for less than 2 weeks. Before these my last flat was when I ran the Corsa pro tires.

1000km.. 1 sidewall puncture due to hitting a large rock. Riding through some real crap roads lately tons of roadwork on my route. I'm was expecting a few more punctures to be honest. Temp back on my Michelins since I wanna wear them out on Enve6.7 so I can get more racedays.

This is a very good post. People have such varying nomenclature for flats and especially flats that lose air at a rapid rate. "Blow" anything just invites too much drama.

Tufo have just shown the Elite Prima. I assume this will be their at-least-as-fast version.

Blow out is an immediate or very fast depressurization. It's standard nomenclature.

Also worth noting that it was 27mm tyres on 25mm internal rims, right?

Small tires on wide rims lose height so they might be more prone to punctures when hitting potholes etc

I just mounted the 27mm tire on my Farsports Hyper hooked wheels with 25mm internal width.

I suspected it was only a matter of time until this happened with this tyre/rim combo. Didn't take long. Glad you kept it up and didn't get injured.

When people are questioning 28mm tyres on 25 internal, you've got to be mad to run 27s.

Where is it? I don't see it on their site or Facebook. They also didn't seem to have anything new at Eurobike.

On their site, it looks like "Elite" is the designator for tubulars.

I found a post on their IG, and yeah it says “tubular” on the casing.

Good news. Want to refresh my tubs. Wish there will be 28mm version.
