Hello all

I have a new DT Swiss ERC 1400 wheel set. I rode with them 600 km.

As I tighten the axle, the front wheel becomes increasingly reluctant to spin.
I rode with them 600km.
I don't understand, are these wheels like this?
it's been like this since the beginning. the rear wheel spins nicely.
I took it to the dt swiss brand service, but they settled it by saying that this is how you have to like it, and that there is nothing wrong with wheel. :?
please check the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VKJ621q0ZU

Are you hearing any brake disc rubbing noise? I maxed the volume but the clip does not help me.
Did you put any kilometers on the wheels or are brand new out of the box and you noticed the behavior? Maybe they need some time to settle.
I need to work on my bike today and I shall let you know if I see the same behavior,

the brake disc does not touch the brake pad.it's like that from the first minute.

It's hard to see exactly what is going on with the brake pads, but to rule out any possible influence from the brakes repeat the test you did in the video but this time do it without the brake pads installed. Does the result change? Note, be sure not to pull on the brake levers without the pads inserted.

Are the end caps definitely the right ones and installed properly?

Agreed, this is where I would look next. Remove end caps, clean and reinstall and see if same result.

Yes caps oke. if I only tighten, for example, 4 Nm, they spin nicely.
at the beginning of the video, you can see how nicely they spin as long as they are not torqued(8-10Nm)

Another guess: are the bearings seated all the way in? Maybe they are not pressed far enough and they seize because of this. Just a wild guess...

Just played a little bit with mine, no such issues.

I would back out both bearings and reseat them and see if that helps. Maybe one isn't fully seated and binding when pressure is applied.

by the way, what is the dt swiss tool kit that is needed for these hubs?

I have already taken out the bearing and put it back several times. unchanged. it spins nicely in the hand.

At this point it sounds like you have your answer. Did you try the wheels in a different frame?

that's all I could achieve. Even if I increase the preload, the situation does not improve.
What do you think? https://www.youtube.com/shorts/eIKwuZQMen8
Is 8 Nm enough for the thru axle?
