PCW are currently making the best wheels on the market.

No one comes close on quality and QC.

Easy to live with, external nipples, solid rim bed, hooked, 21/28.2mm dims on new Evo series.

6560 Evos are an absolute delight and handle wind like <50mm wheels. A very unique sound to them too.

I've got a pair of Peak Evos coming next week, and think these will stay on my SL8 pretty much permanently, digging out the 6560 Evos for the fastest rides of the year.

I don't need to sell anything.
Have owned pretty much every topend wheelset money can buy.
PCW are not the most expensive or flashy, but what I'm keeping on my own bike, and get my full backing as a company / brand.

Do you have any intel if the 4045 will be updated as well soon this year?
Thanks

I would take a good guess that all previous models shall be rolled out as an Evo generation this year.

26OD, 1990s rim specs. Not for me.

But being circa 1,480g, hookless, and so narrow, not appealing to me at all.

Much better wheels out there for a lot less. Also have seen some pretty "average at best" layups from Corima.

How about the Bontrager RSL51 wheelset? Light for the 51mm depth, wide (internal width 23mm) and hooked rims.
I agree.
I set up my Enve Melee and Cervelo Soloist with Bontrager RSL51/62 and Reserve 40/44 wheels and because I didn't want to mess with hookless/tire compatibility. Both set ups were slightly lighter than Enve 4.5 wheels.

We were descending together at about 75kmh, during a u turn his tyre removed from his zipp wheel.
He ended in hospital allegently the pressure was 70 psi
I think the issue is the tire and hookless compatibility standard.
I think hookless works well for mountain/gravel set up but for the road tires, there should be a more stringent standard because you are dealing with less volume of air and higher pressure....

I dug too deep into this subject, but maybe I'm not seeing something.

This is my shortlist:
Image

- Tire setup: Conti GP5000 S TR: 28mm front +32mm rear
- Priorities: #1 Comfort, #2 Speed, then the rest

Which wheelset would you go for if the price was similar? (I'm getting HUNTsnare at the same price as Light Bicycle, ENVEs and Rovals might be more, but the resale value is higher too, so given I'm getting a discount for either Rovals or ENVEs it evens out).

Roval gets my vote.
I think the Reserve 40/44 is compelling wheels as well.

I need to try some of those pcw wheels. What does $3500+ actually get you? Genuinely curious.
