Based on their own claims and BRR results, the SuperSport R will end up being a bit slower than the GP5K S TR. We’ll see. I’d love for anyone else to break Continental’s dominance…around here maybe 80-85% of people who aren’t paid to race anything else are on GP5Ks.

Yea the rolling reaistance are being reduce 30%++ vs the old tyres, more supple and reduction of weight -15% and better tubeless seal.

If the above are true, it will be close to conti performance at a more affordable price- a good alternative option

Hard to imagine an even better tubeless seal than the current Eagle F1s. When I was using them, they'd lose less than 2psi over a weeklong period.

Yeah, air retention is amazing....undoubtedly related to them being a frickin pain to mount. Hopefully they can improve that somehow with these new tires.

TBH I never had issues mounting Goodyears.

Just an FYI, all are quantitative claims are using data supplied by Bicycle Rolling Resistance. The real standout for us is the wet grip (Avg/Center/Edge) being 78/81/75 for the Eagle F1 R 700x25.

This are excellent wet grip numbers indeed. I always felt the previous version had great dry grip, but couldn’t measure it myself.

Numerically most competitors are in the high 60s, low 70s. Qualitatively speaking low 60s is super sketchy and mid 70s is very good.

I just read that Goodyear is releasing new models of its road tired, and I look forward to visiting Goodyear at Sea Otter. I've equipped my two most recent road bikes with the current Eagle F1s at sizes 30 and 32, tube-type. The winged foot looks great, the tires are easy to change, and both sets weighed materially less than advertised--thank you Goodyear.

Test fit a 30mm tire on a 23mm internal rim. 30.5mm WAM initially at 70psi. 285g (275g claimed.) Bead was a bit tighter than I’m used to, I had to use a tire lever. Seated easily with a floor pump and made 5-6 of the loudest pings I’ve ever heard in the process.

Also installed a GoodYear Eagle F1 R (not SuperSport) tubeless tyre in 30mm last weekend. Definitely needed tyre levers to get them on my 24mm internal rims, it was a serious struggle but not the worst ever (that sport remains at old Schwalbe's). The WAM at 5 bars is 31.5mm and weights 330 and 327g. They also seated easily with a floor pump and provided some NYE-like pings.

They look good, that's all I can say about performance so far.

Forgot to mention the SuperSports have a directional arrow on the sidewall despite a lack of siping.

Does anyone have some miles on either of these tires yet? I'm curious about the handling characteristics and road feel.
