Corsa N.EXT TLR real life reviews?

Hi all, I'm just about to pull the trigger on a pair of 28mm Corsa N.EXT TLR tyres.

"Official" reviews seem to back the stated goal of matching or exceeding the attributes of GP5K / Pro ones (even as vittoria admits- exception being unable to match GP5000 TRS rolling resistance)

I think they could be a great option for me on Roval CL50 disc wheels to see me through the next 3 UK seasons.

Has anyone here got any real life time on them yet?
Iwill leave it a couple of days and if I don't get any feedback I will purchase anyway and become the Guinea pig! 😁

I can only add my N=1 experience, but so far it's a positive one. I'm probably 3-400km in with a set of 30mm NEXTs. They're on a 23mm internal (hookless) rim and measure up at just under 31mm, so pretty accurate despite the wider rim.

Fitting was relatively straightforward, although took a while to get the rear to hold air for more than 24 hours. Might have been user error as it was fine when I added a bit more sealant. Ride quality is very nice. Obviously not in the league of a Corsa Speed, but I'd say on a par with a GP5000. I can't speak to the puncture resistance or durability, other than to say I've not had any issues. Where I have noticed a positive difference is in the grip, especially on a damp road surface. Well done Vittoria there!

Just from the testing I have seen, I'd not really compare the Corsa N.EXT to something like the Conti STR.
The former is heavier, thicker, grippier in the wet and more puncture resistant on the sidewalls.
The GP5000S TR on the other hand is significantly faster rolling than the Corsa N.ext. According to BRR it's 4.5W per tire at 80PSi, at 29kph.
9W slower on the system, which is actually pretty crazy. That's more than the difference between a average 50mm deep wheel and a top notch 60mm wheel at 45kph for example...
I'd see the N.EXT more as a off-season, training or endurance tire. Which is of course absolutely fine.

Thank you for your replies.

I take BRR testing with a pinch of salt as it replicates only 1 specific surface. (Which in itself has merits for a bespoke lab test)

My UK cotswold ride area has horrendous broken chipseal, beautiful smooth tarmac and everything inbetween.
I found the Corsa G2.0 28mm with latex tube to be very close to the GP5Ks in term of speed (but the contis did have the edge) but much better in ride feel, cut resistance and grip.

Horses for courses- and I'm happy to trim a wee bit of speed off to increase other attributes.

I have been really impressed with the muc off sealant this year in my MTB and Gravel tyres so going to give it a go on the road.

Vittoria Corsa G2.0 is night and day in grip compared to GP5kS TR as well. The difference is especially easy to tell in wet/greasy/cold weather and on descents. The GP5kS TR is a bit of a specialist, but I like the ride quality.

We need Vittoria to update the Corsa G2.0TLR with better fit.

So the Corsa Next is based on nylon 100tpi...

The Rubino Pro is based on nylon 120 tpi...

But the Corsa Next should be the high end tire of the two ? Even from a compound perspective it is not clear. The Rubino Pro has at least the G2.0 3C compound, while the Corsa Next has some kind of Silica mix. We al know that silica mixes are typically for the more affordable tires on a budget, right...

To me it is obvious, I'll stick to the REAL Corsa's. It seems there is also not a cost benefit (okay, probably with a performance penalty too) for the Corsa Next.

^ Not right.
Silica is an additive that was proven to work. It is used by pretty much every fast and grippy road tires.
Graphene is gimmick additive. Only Vittoria use it to differentiate themself from competitors.

The switch from Graphene to Silica (at least in the center tread) should make it perform better, atleast in the rolling resistant part of the test.

Hesitatet but bought a pari of 28s to put on my incoming Aethos. Sacrificing some Watts for durability and ouncture protecition on my winter / GF bike is worth it I guess; for my race bike im sticking with the old GP5000 TLs as they are the far better tyre than the 5000S TR; its getting more and more difficult to get ahold of them tho...

I disagree massively with the TL being a better tire than the S TR. My biggest issues with the TL were the installation process. Some particularly tight samples of the TL are, from what I can tell, simply impossible to mount on more than one brand of wheels in my possession. I’m recently sliced away rubber from the bead of one such tire while trying to slide it over the edge of my ENVEs with a Pedro’s tire lever. Amusingly the lever is fine.

Also sidewall durability…the TLs sidewalls were borderline for the racing done here.

Thanks for everyone's replies- I have gone ahead and bought a pair which should be arriving tomorrow. Hopefully should be a good compromise of attributes.
I will report further on this thread as I start to clock up the KM's.

For me TL was pretty easy to mount, and most importantly, seat with floor pump. Seating Vittoria Corsa 2.0 TLR takes much longer and for most recent installation i had to go to LBS

A pair of tyres arrived today- I love the smell of fresh rubber in the morning...

As you can see in the photos below, the Corsa next comes neatly packaged in a new eco cardboard box.

The Corsa is far more compliant in the hand than I imagined- dare I say it- it feels as compliant as the cotton version. See the photo of it next to a 25mm GP5KS to see the difference. The Corsa is almost flat in comparison.
The sidewall is only slightly thicker but more flexible and the tread is the same.

My two (28mm version) weighed in at 305 grams each.

Will get them fitted next week and will report further.

My experience so far.
Bought a 26mm and 28mm and installed the tyres on a 19mm rim. The 28mm tyre was easy to install. No issues with air leaks. The 26mm tyre is a pain in the ***. The sidewalls are full of small holes and after 80mm of sealant it still leaks way too fast. Like 2-3 bars in a couple og hours.

The grip is very good though.

Fitted the tyres this morning- tight as expected but managed to do it with my hands (just). Muc off v2 tubeless valves and sealant.

Inflated first time with my track pump no problems. I inflated to 90psi and have let them sit all day- I have just checked again and they are at 88 so happy with the initial seal.

My 28mm tyres are measuring at 29.85mm on 21mm internal width rims.

Will hopefully get out a few times this week and will report further.
