Thanks for your feedback. I've been sucessfull with my techinque for the past 15 years but i admit it may have room for improvement.

Do you mount your tires by hand or with the help of levers? Which rims?

To put in prespective, i have 3 other wheelsets in all which i can put the tires with no effort by hand that are:

- Duke World Runner gravel rims - 25mm internal width (hooked)
- Dt swiss GRC 1400 - 24mm internal width (hookless)
- Cadex 42 - 19.5mm internal width (hookless)

I can mount GP5K S TRs by hand on all my rims (ENVE SES 5.6 and 7.8, Zipp 202 NSW, Bontrager Aeolus RSL 37, Ascent Polaris 69, Light Bicycle WR50 and AR25.)

And after a period of riding, they will stretch and be even easier to remount.

Anybody else had a broken spoke with the new wheels? I broke a DS spoke on a downhill on fresh pavement today. Very odd.

ever throw a chain ? on the other side of the cassette ? That's the only time I've even broke a spoke(s) on Enve wheels.

Never. It was very bizarre and I was going 40mph/65kmh at the time. I wasn’t pedaling or braking. Didn’t hit a bump. Figuring the wheel probably wasn’t tensioned properly from the factory. Had these for about 2 months.

I should also mention I’ve never broken a spoke before in all the years I’ve been riding, so I’m not exactly hard on my wheels.

I got my 6.7 @ launch, but I bunch of buddies got some soon after. None of them have had issues. All of them log way more miles then me. Mine only have 3500mi since I switch wheelsets often.

I was looking at the 2.3 specs today and it appears Enve increased the weight by 75+ grams for XDR. Was that a subtle increase due to rim breakage? The website says do not use on gravel so perhaps that was a sign of things.
