hi,

carbon spokes are making a comback but this time you can true them
there are a few brands that offer a carbon spoke option.

that i can see they are all from the same manufacture,
i'm speaking off cadex,elite(drive), winspace,hunt etc.

my question is,
behold,
where can you buy carbon spokes in 2022?
i have messaged winspace and hunt but they say you can't buy them spokes.

thanks in advance.
kind regards,
Cisse

Deerobust looks like a solid company. They sponsor a few riders if you search on the company name. I have no experience with their products whatsoever but I saw on their Instagram that they sponsor a local young rider from my hometown in Sweden.

Best is to do your own research :)

It’s a matter of time for wider availability, winspace, hunt and now Btlos make wheels with the same carbon spokes.
Btlos being the ones offering the more flexibility since you can select rim height from 30 to 60, 3 carbon types (std to ultralight), brake type and tubular or tubuless.
Since you are still limited on the hubs (and that’s really the bigger limiting factor) I would recommend to go the BLos way to make you a wheel that will match your needs (and better hub geometry than Hunt that has a hard time making the stiffness level carbon spokes should enable)

Not sure about "very light", my 45mm deep wheels are 1100g and cost only 250USD more than Elites.

Damn thats good! Is that Extralite hubs?

Mine with 180 EXP and CX-ray are 1260 ish, maybe closer to 1300 after new frontrim.

But I will never understand why someone would need 45mm rims for gravel

I don't see how buying some carbon spokes would be worthwhile. All I've seen require a carbon spoke-specific hub and I haven't seen any aftermarket ones available. Some of the newer models of wheelsets like the Elites also have offset spoke holes in the rims so the spokes don't contact each other where they overlap in non-radial builds. Abrasion caused by contact at these points has been identified as a potential failure mode, so overall it seems carbon spokes require a complete system.

I'm intrested in more aerofoil shaped spokes over the current mostly flat bladed ones. Carbon may allow that.

Yes and deeper spokes like spokes 0.5 cm or something but still thin
