If they help to put pressure on the Continental Grand Prix 5000 TR prices, that is a good thing.
They won't. The same price if not even higher.
Minimum bike categories required in the stable:
Aero bike | GC bike | GC rim bike | Climbing bike | Climbing rim bike | Classics bike | Gravel bike | TT bike | Indoors bike

Let's see if it is even nearly as fast as they claim. Their old TT tire is quite a bit slower than the Corsa Speed.
I doubt their new road tire is significantly faster - with the added puncture resistance.

Comparable car tyres are way more expensive and you need 4 of them, which puts the price even higher.

The cost per mile of car tyres, even 4, is way lower. This is because car tyres usually last much longer, unless you have an AMG. :D

Agreeable, but we all hardly need to have the best ever, fastest, grippiest tyre, so why compare best-quality DOCG apples (premium bike tyres) to average second-class oranges (regular car tyres)? It's wrong on both the account of quality and of the account of the type of fruit.

That said, for those who still want to complain, there's plenty of TLR tyres that are half the price than these Michelin or even less, e.g. Hutchinson Performance.

Or American Classic Timekeepers at US$30/35 clincher/tubeless. Will be keen to see how they perform in BRR’s test suite,

uhm, this graph is significant.
So, better wet grip than GP5000 and roll the same?
Interesting.
PS. Aren't Vittoria cooking something new to launch soon too?

I have never paid less than $250 per car tire. Not sure how these are more expensive?

Not sure about the logic here.

If I pay £180 for a very good car tyre, that is £720 for 4, I'd expect to get about 20,000 miles out of them. That's 3.6 pence per mile.

If I pay £65 for a very good bike tyre, that is £130 for 2, I'd expect to get about 2,500 miles out of them. That's 5.2 pence per mile.

Adjust how you see fit, but mostly car tyres cost more, but work out cheaper per mile.

yes when I replace sports car tires it's not pretty, but they do last longer (except for track tires)

But if you do that based upon time, I assume it is different? I assume a car averages 50 mph and a bike 15 mph.

On the car side, conti has released the contactsport7 that surpases the michelin ps4s, not sure how it compares to michelin cups but it seems conti may already have a compund to rival anything else.

That said Michelin has significant exp in motogp which may trickle down into their cycling compound.

Would love to try the clincher cups though

I am glad to see Michelin apparently coming back on the very top of the performance scene for everyday performance tire (the TT is an absolute machine but… for TT). Their claims have historically be spot on real performance (including actual generation being a bit slower but with better grip than gp5k)

In grip they are only outperformed by the quite slower Vitoria, and they appear to outperform all 3 other tires facing sharp cones puncture (if reading this well).

Curious to see the ride feel.
