Anyone using the Michelins on their Giant SLR1 hookless rims? What mileage are you getting out of them?

Could the hooks on your RSL wheels be shorter than typical? BRR uses an aluminum rim and I've found most aluminum hooks to be much thinner/shorter than carbon ones. For example on my wife's HED JET wheels (aluminum rim) her GP5000 show slightly more of the sidewall (the textured rubber next to the bead) than on my carbon DT wheels. Essentially less of the tire is inside the rim.TobinHatesYou wrote: ↑Tue Nov 01, 2022 10:03 amI’m still wondering how BRR and I have found 25mm Power Cups to measure much wider than others. My 25s measured 29.3mm on 21mm (28mm external) Aeolus RSL 37s. BRR’s 25s measured 27.7mm on a 17.8mm rim.
How is the same WAM being achieved on both 21mm and 17.8mm rims??
And my opinion on the tread width still hasn’t changed.
Just mounted mine up with tubes instead of sealant, to see how they look and measure. Bought them locally from someone who rode them "100km" so they should be a bit stretched.
At 80psi with tubes, the tan 28mm TLR measured an average of 30.4mm on 21mm hooked internal rims.
The measured size difference between the 25mm and 28mm tires seems to be less than the nominal 3mm difference.

I think it's sort of established now already that somehow the 25mm Michelins are way over their nominal width, while 28mm and above are closer to what you'd expect from modern tyre actual measurements on 20+ mm internals.

Does anyone have a 30mm size? How did those measure up?
My Venge has about 5mm clearance on all sides with the 28mm (30.4mm measured), so I should be able to run the 30mm size and still be within the mfg recommendation of 4mm clearance. I hope they introduce 30mm with tan sidewalls.

Measured width of 25mm Power Cup is 29.8mm on LightBicycle AR56 with 23mm internal and 30mm external rims. 74 psi. Almost new with just 200 miles on the tires.

I do, but sitting on the shelf not mounted, as the winter has kicked in already, and the wheels I want them to mount on (23mm IW), are still being built. I'll report back when I have some data, but likely next year

My tan wall Power Cups arrived today. My experience with Veloflexes is that the tan walls don't last long, since they become "tinted" and stained by the sealant used, no matter what brand.
For now I'm using VW car tire sealant in another set of wheels with black Pirellis PZero installed (with a great deal of succeess!), but I wanted to know if anyone here is still keeping their tan Michelin sidewalls clean after use, and if yes, which sealant are you using with them.

They are still clean after 3 months. I have used orange seal. No punctures yet.naavt wrote:My tan wall Power Cups arrived today. My experience with Veloflexes is that the tan walls don't last long, since they become "tinted" and stained by the sealant used, no matter what brand.

After 3000km they must be a bit wider, can check if interested.

I just installed 30mm onto Winspace D67 wheels which are 21mm ID. Measured up 30.2mm front and 30.3mm rear but will probably expand up to 31mm at most after riding.BigBoyND wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 4:25 pmDoes anyone have a 30mm size? How did those measure up?
