Given how heavy they are, I think higher puncture resistance could have been expected. Old 4 seasons tires had significantly more puncture resistance as well as wet grip. These don't. They're not a high resistance race tire, they're a dedicated wet race tire, which is fine - just not what I was hoping for.

I hear ya. It seems like low RR has taken over the premium cycle tyre conversion and Conti has made a new 'glamorous' marketing led low RR tyre product for winter it can charge more for.
All at the expense of puncture resistance of course, compared to the previous gen Grand Prix 4.

I find it a bit strange that they chose the narrow 25 mm for the test. I understand that there are riders using 25 mm tyres, but it is quite common to ride a wider tyre during the rainy season.

Comparing a tyre that has been in production for an age to a brand new tubeless tyre is a bit pointless, isn’t it?
RRP of 4 Season is £65. 5000 AS TR is £85.

I don't even bother looking at Conti tyres anymore. Too expensive, for tubeless anyway.

I wouldn't know, I have not seen any marketing related to the new tyre. But the price of the new, just released AS TR is pretty much the same as the price of the older S TR.

If the puncture resistance of the GP5000 AS TR is not good what should be my next winter tire if I normaly ride the regular GP5000?
Just keep the 4 seasons?
(I use tubes)

We have the Australia tax here.
Small market, less competition.
Postage from some other markets tends to be expensive.
Just had a quick look, GP5k S TR $100- Australian.
Not too far off the price of my car tyres.
I must be a tight arse. I don't see that as good value for something that lasts 4k km on the rear.

You are comparing a road bike race tire with a budget car tire. You will find perfectly usable road bike tires for 10 USD or less that will last a long time. You will also find car rice tires that won't last 1000 km but cost more than 1000 USD.
