Dunno if it helps, I've got Schwalbe Pro Ones 25mm on my Hypers. I put one side of the tyre on the rim and left it facing the sun on the other side so it warmed up and got nice and flexy. Then I put in a tube, pumped it up and left it over night. Popped one side off the rim to get the tube out. Valve in and it went back on no problems. Floor pump got it inflated.

Yeah the skewers I got weren't the best. I bought some titanium ones from Wiggle and they work great. Liked them enough I got another pair for my Rovals

What is "Mega" about them?
is it just the larger hub flange, i assume for greater stiffness?

Wider carbon spokes bonded to the hub flange but traditional nipple to the rim, possibly continuous spokes going from one side of the rim to the other.inertianinja wrote:What is "Mega" about them?

Flange with spokes glued seems to be replaceable since they are bolt to aluminium hubs.
That could be a modern interpretation of the 2010 Cosmic SLR.
Yes, now what matters is performance.nickf wrote:So if one spoke breaks then you replace the entire flange with the spokes already attached? I'm not convinced.
Curious to see what it brings. Not fully one piece like the Ultimate or LW.
Regarding breaking spokes… even racing I never broke one… I broke rims but not spokes
Good point on the breaking spokes. Was just thinking out loud. How would they address repairs, unbolting a damaged side with the other side still under tension would be interesting.C36 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 3:48 pmYes, now what matters is performance.nickf wrote:So if one spoke breaks then you replace the entire flange with the spokes already attached? At a cost of $1k more than the hyper and weighing nearly the same, I wonder what the performance improvements really are. One less spoke compared to the current 2023 hypers. Same rims as the hyper? I do like how they are keeping a rim brake option available. Looking forward to hearing more.
All depend the tire you install.Mcdeez wrote:Anyone tried 30c tire on the hyper 50s 1rst gen?
What's the meaurement mounted on the wheel and does it looks like a bubble?

My 25mm gp5k were already 27+
My 23mm Cup are 25.3
But yes a 30mm tire (so around 31-33 real) will look like a bubble on a 26.5mm wide rim
Ok, im at 28c right now, im gonna keep it like that, love thenC36 wrote:All depend the tire you install.Mcdeez wrote:Anyone tried 30c tire on the hyper 50s 1rst gen?

The questions is "what are you looking for"? you may have valid reasons to go 30 or to revert to 25mm labeled tires... all depends what you want...Mcdeez wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 2:14 pmOk, im at 28c right now, im gonna keep it like that, love thenC36 wrote:All depend the tire you install.Mcdeez wrote:Anyone tried 30c tire on the hyper 50s 1rst gen?
