the new aluminum hubs are 100g lighter than the carbon ones in 1st gen. wouldnt it be the ultimate (a.k.a. money no object) option to get some 1st gen rims and lace them to 2nd gen hubs?
Some say pour 10ml water out of your bottle to save that last bit of the weight. Sorry, i go one step further, i tend to the rider off my bikes.
n+1...14 last time i checked, but i lost count

"The total weight has increased somewhat as a result, though it’s said that this is compensated for by the reduced rolling resistance of tubeless wheels." - ah ah ah

This is the marketing spin I was expecting. Sooooo goood!!
I am by no means a fan of added weight and I do not agree that tubeless inherently rolls faster (as aforementioned), but in reality, 100g added, in a super light 70kg system, on a 10% gradient, at 400W, is sub 0.5W of "power wasted".
No that big of a deal really.
But I know which Forum this is...
I'm just arguing about the marketing spin. With the v1 weight was a priority and tubeless was still not there. With v2, weight is not important and tubeless is "there" - even though no new tubeless was presented by them.
I agree it's not a great look.
I've now read the cycling tips article. Besides the marketing bulshit, I "love" how specialized felt the need for, after screwing up their own customers, putting a phrase out screwing up all other wheels manufacturers: "Wehan wouldn’t explicitly outline the findings, but he said Roval did test some other makes and models of tubeless-compatible carbon road wheels with seemingly mixed results."

In spesh decision room was something like: let's put something out that will leave a big mantle of doubt/suspicious over all other brands and that way diverging the attention from our own screw-up to others.

This will make me strongly reconsider them as a brand for future purchases. I don't like this type of beahviour and I try to penalize them in the way I can: buy not exchanging with them.

Praise roadbikeaction.com for saying it the way it deserves to be said: "SPECIALIZED LIED TO EVERYONE ABOUT TUBELESS"

Yes, this is quite oportunistic. Maybe only some random Aliexpress wheels failed, maybe most of the pricey high end ones did. We don't know which manufacturers release tubeless wheels without testing them tubeless, but just because they almost did with these wheels (and apparently did with everything released before, they just got lucky), it's unfair to group all the other manufacturers together.

Tour tested the DT62 and Bontrager 62 around 3W faster than the Roval Rapide. That's 45kph.

New ENVE wheels sounds super exciting! Especially if they finally become lighter.
Really looking for a new disc that's >1050g and modern width.
I have a copy of the DT62/Aeolus tests, but don't have one of the rapid tests. Could you please share it?

During the classics season, the new Roval wheels were set up with a new, tubeless, tan wall tire.
