Yes they do. Could be 5%-15% I believe. Their prices are already decent, but if not in a rush I would wait. If you google, you can usually find 3%-5% discount codes. Sometimes it is specific to wheels they have in stock as well.

Also considering LB Gen 2 hub & carbon spikes on some Pro 50s. Is this hub similar/the same design as the WheelsFar DT Swiss ratchet knock off?

I'm thinking of testing 30s and 32s (roads around here are dreadful), with the max external width of 34 they should be aero optimised for that am I right in thinking?

Anyone with any opinion or experience greatly appreciated.

Ordered my turbo pro on August during their sale, and only yesterday I got the pictures from them and it is soon to be shipped. It took longer than expected, but can't wait to try it out!

Look great IMO. Keen to see them on the bike, what size tyres are you thinking of running?

Any opinions on the ride quality of carbon spokes + turbo rims on 28mm and 30mm tires? I know carbon spokes are supposed to make for a stiffer ride, but not sure what that means in real world applications? Is it uncomfortable for longer (4+ hr rides)? Should I be concerned?

I think I'll try with what I have currently first which is 28mm, and maybe 30mm if I feel like the ride is a bit too harsh.

Those are growing on me. From certain angles they are no harder to take than the x-flow profile that I have a few of, but other angles are still a little extreme. I still think this is a better overall design than the "wave" versions offered by so many.

If I were to buy a LB wheelset, the Turbo 40 or 50 would be my choice.
Same weight as flyweight AR465 / AR375 yet being wider as well as much higher max cyclist weight (90kg vs 135kg). They seem to translate to Turbo rims being stronger.

32mm tyres on 34mm wide rims are superb on rough tarmac. I can literally ride away from my mates on 28s through rough corners.

They behave well in the wind too.

Great improvements in grip, cornering, descending, and confidence on rough roads. Maybe cost one watt in aero but I’ll happily pay that.

Same hesitation here. You get a similar weight with DT180 and Alpina spokes. I guess it depends on how stiff your frame might already be?

Hi all,

Stumbled across this thread whilst trying to do some LB wheel comparisons. Currently looking at getting some AR40's built with DT240, CX rays etc for around the 1200USD mark. I can't see any benefit to going with 180s with the weight/cost ratio involved. Did also look at getting these built with CKs but I'm a simple man and they seem overly complicated maintenance wise and obviously the additional weight penalty pushes them into the 1500g+ category.

I''ll primarily be using these on a Specialized Aethos - this might seem like a counter intuitive build for a lightweight bike. Thinking being that I've tried some Enve 3.4s and enjoy the wider rim profile and comfort offered on those. Would be running either 28 or 30c on the LBs so hoping to sort of replicate that feeling (at a fraction of the cost!)

I did ask LB if there was any particular reason why they advertise the AR40 as a CX/Gravel wheel other than the inner/external rim profile and they said no, go ahead if you want to use on the Road.

Weight ends up being around 1430g all in, which I think seems pretty competitive for the spec. I know I could go down the route of the Turbo rims but I'm not completely sold on that design from an aesthetic POV.

Any advice/experience from people who've used the AR40 as a road bike option would be greatly appreciated!
