Raw carbon, might have a thin layer of matte clearcoat applied but mine look pretty "raw-ish".
No scratches yet but only 860kms so far (60/66 Sprint)

Are the rims painted matte or is it raw carbon?

How does it behave in long-term use? Does it catch a lot of scratches?

No issues with bearings as of yet, been running them for 2 plus months so still early. Also, no issues with water filling up - washed my bike many times and just like my previous rapide clx2s, no retention issues.

Like the above said, it's a raw matte finish. I don't expect scratches being any different than ones you get on other rims. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Since the proprietary hidden valve uses Shraeder diameter, is there a plug/adapter also on the rim-bed side for standard tubeless valves? I only saw pictures of the adapter on the (radial) inside.

Yes a complete set is supplied, their proprietary valve, and also plugs to reduce to standard valve dimensions.

They're painted on.

Just about. Got two customers running them like this and they have no issues I know of. But they might not tell me
I run them with Eclipse TPUs, and so far no issues with rattling or wandering valvestems.

If only got ~750km on the A49/54 Vonoa with my Propel. So far no issues. But I try to only ride that bike when it's not raining. At least with a bit of cleaning after every ride, I didn't have any issues with water inside the rim.

Isn't there a MTB end cap for the fader hubs you can run if you're riding then in bad conditions? Not saying that's an ideal scenario, particularly when you supposedly need a tool to pull the end caps, but I wonder if that's a solution?

I have a previous set of wheels with the same valves.

If negatives to Newmen valves :
You need to "ride" with the adapter/storage tube, to be able to inflate or if in need of installing a tube. Never had to in the 8 months riding.
Refilling is a tricky job, as you don't want to loose the core when you loosen it.
Ideally valve at 12h00 so when unscrewed, core stays in the tool, best is a blop of grease to let it stick to the tool.
Only done it once since setup in usage

My eyes are less sore when I look at the rims without the valves sticking out
And in WW spirit you gain some precious grams at an important "moving" component

Then again haven't put them on the scale but we are possibly speaking of either 1-2 g at most

There is and I just installed it last weekend. Covers the bearing quite nicely.
However when doing a cassette change on my trusted Corimas the same day, I realized that that hub also has the outer bearing exposed the same way as the Newmen. And my Corimas have seen quite some rain unfortunately w/o causing any problems.
So IMHO probably more of a minor issue in real life...
